Yanks get serious if you giggle about their eagle even when it's compared with the Welsh dragon flag or the Pom Lion. Only the Oz kangaroo raises a grin . Philip Adams said the emu and roo on the national symbol have small heads and big bums.
So Lake Eyre has returned to the name of Kati Thanda : meeting place of bosses. Old Javanese kuti is : Buddhist monastery. Tanda is headman. Tantu is world-order. Buddhist temples in Java (where Kertajaya came from) have the makara crocodile as in Kardimakara of Lake Eyre , fossil crocodiles .
The language there is Ngarabana. Nagarabana means : temple group , in India. It is in : Gita Bahana , of Indonesia , the Song Choir. Negarane gita , Javanese : country's song, is seen in Ngurungaeta : song-maker of Melbourne.

The boat that arrived in Bundjalung on the Clarence river may have produced these legends:

People say that Dirrangan is a witch, that she's mean and cunning and brings you all the mischief in the world. Others say that she is friendly. But she's a very old woman and she has long hair down to her knees. Dirrangan's camp was under a big fig tree at the Dooloomi Falls which is the source of the Clarence River. She blocked the Falls to stop water flowing towards Grafton.

Old Java: dhira . firm, self possessed.
diri . stand upright, reign.
Modern Java: diri . yourself , individual.
Old Java : angharep . preparation.
angen . awe
angan . notion.
So Dirrangan could mean : Firm . notion.

In Australian Aboriginal mythology of the Bundjalung Nation, the Dirawong, an unseen spiritual creature also known as the goanna spirit, is one of the Creator Beings of the Bundjalung Nation, that 1) Protects 2) Guards, 3) Controls, and 4) Helps the people.
Dirawong attacked the bad Rainbow Snake who was like Steve.

Old Java : wong. person.
Dirawong then may be Firm. person

Does Qld have problems with Xray Radiology? A pigskull will be scanned after being struck by a sharp mulga-wood blade. It will need 6 months of being 'cleaned by insects' to allow the Xray. This follows ABC TV Catalyst 'Toorale skull' about a skull with a sword-cut dated 1200s, found on the Darling river. It could be physical evidence for Indonesian contact from Yamba north NSW. The need for an Xray suggests the pig didn't cop what the human skull did.
Warana festival in Brisbane means 'Blue skies'. Waruna in Bali is the ancient Indian sky-god Varuna , normally painted blue colour , from the root word *vr ' to cover everything'. He watches people , using stars as eyes and Bunjil has sun and moon eyes. Waruna punishes and destroys wrong-doers. Bunjil threw a star at Warrandyte Melbourne to punish wrong-doing by people. 'Warran' means : to throw. 'Dyte' is the thing thrown. Sanskrit : dyuti is :'shining', Javanese :'heavenly body' and in Victoria , duta /durt are : 'star'. So dyte may also be dyuti. Gold was found at Warrandyte leading to the 1851 gold-rush. Could the shattered star of Bunjil be how they explained the shining gold along the creek at Warrandyte? Was that a reason for Indonesians sailing south. Recently a large hoard of gold objects was found in Philippines from 10-11th centuries , and attributed to Indonesians who were gold-mining there.

Aidan....

nicknamenick,

"I'm baffled as to what this has to do with elections."

Everything. It comes down to who gets the last comment on this page. Once we reach about pages 25 to 30, whoever gets the most votes (in terms of pages) and also commonly known on this site as a 'new posters' is the winner.

So thank you nicknamenick, for bringing up such an important issue re elections. We as human beings appreciate your valued contribution.

You feel that ancient history is Current affairs ? It can't be General Discussion because every single comment has been a personal insult on me, you human being. Choosing to adopt Hindu /Buddhist teachings is an election , a deliberate policy be many elders' groups across SE Australia . They were humans , would you say Nathan , or maybe not? What terminology would you use ?
