When Alexander, The Great, conquered India the Indian Sultan gave Alexander three of his daughters. They had three sons & when they grew up the Sultan said to them to find their own kingdoms. They set out in a huge fleet towards the East Indies complete with retainers & an Army. One settled in Penang or George Town, another settled in Jakarta & settled a War between two local Princes. He became the new Sultan. The last one found an Island at the end of the Malay Peninsula & saw a huge fish with a Lions head. This was a sign that he was to settled in what is now Singapore & built a huge stone City. The remains of which Raffles found when he founded Singapore.

Apart from that I don't see the Greek or Roman Connection with the East Indies area. From the mouth of the Lion Fish.
