As it happens, here is a link that would be a flight crews worst nightmare. 60 kids all sick on a plane at once, on a 5 hour flight.
Looks like something the kids ate before boarding, could well be from a hygiene matter or poor food handling.

I have gone to the 'mens' and washed my hands before eating in a shopping centre food court and I too have wondered what is the point when I have to pull a door open to exit, using a handle that a hundred before me have also used to open the door. I would probably be better to wipe my hands on the seat of my pants.
Is Mise has made a point about design and it is a valid point. Is it too difficult to put a door on that swings both ways, or do away with the need for a door. Taps that turn on/off with elbow.
I see medicos are now saying that the best way to combat resistant bugs in hospitals is to insist on frequent hand washing by staff.
As I said before, there are dozens of things we touch that most likely carry bugs. If we educate about hand washing there is not much point if one has to pull on a dirty door handle afterward.
Be nice if you could acknowledge this little fact. Small thing , but important.
