The show rolls on. With the well publicised crash and burn by ‘Mr. Squeaky Clean’ himself, ex NSW Premier, Barry O’Farrell last week, the NSW ICAC yesterday claimed another high profile Liberal in the shape of Marie Ficarra. The Liberal MLC stands accused of secretly soliciting money for a well established party slush fund! Along with the infamous three, Chris Hartcher, a former minister, Darren Webber and Chris Spence, it is alleged these Liberal Party people set up a dodgy company under the name of ‘Eightbyfive’ for the purpose of laundering illegal donations from the likes of property developers, and Labor’s Eddie Obeid’s AWH to the party.
If proven, the new Premier Michael Baird and his former leader O’Farrell will eventually have to come clean as to what they knew about these shenanigans. It would be difficult in the extreme to believe, like the Labor leadership and Sergeant Schultz “I know nothing!” As the Honorable Maie Ficarra’s term of office expires 6th March 2015, I don’t expect to see the honorable lady gracing the chamber again. The first of the "Gang of Three" Liberal egg Chris Hartcher was haled before the ICAC yesterday. Hartcher stands accused of laundering slush funds through his old law firm 'Hartcher Reid' handing them directly to the Liberal Party! This is only the tip of the Hartcher iceberg, much more is to follow.

Meanwhile up in Mac Street, the new head honcho Mike Baird was in damage control, with claims its all a surprise to me, calling for an investigation here, an expulsion there! For poor Mick he's all "shocked and appalled" at evidence of illegal payments aired at a corruption inquiry. Come off it Mick tell us what you know, and don't do a Barry and claim "I do not recall!"

Ah, the good old memory lapses.
So many politicians seem to suffer from that
illness. Yet many are so quick to attack
others for it. The results of the ICAC inquiry
will be interesting - in what (if any thing) results.
I suspect that not much will eventuate - just
as it has in past Royal Commissions.
But lets wait and see.

Basically the evidence will be turned into gobbly gook, a few minor sacrifices to make it look good and then it will be business as usual
