Unfortunately we are unable to post out briefs of evidence. You will need to come to our office and sign for it to say that you have received it. This is our policy and is for all defendants and I am unaware of any Queensland Police Service Prosecution Offices that post out criminal briefs of evidence. If you do not have photo id then we are able to check your photo on the computer to see it matches the person collecting the brief.



If you need your birth certificate and it was taken by police, you will need to contact the arresting officer who is Senior Constable Alana Johnson who is currently in the Water Police Unit and can be reached on 3895 0333.



When you collect your brief of evidence, you can view the evidence and contact this office if you believe there is any other material outstanding that relates to the drugs charge that relates to this Court date.



The Police Officer who first arrested you is required to be in Court and will be there on the day.



If you require doctor statements that form part of your defence or if you are going to make complaints about police assaulting you, you will need to contact them yourself and arrange for that. Police are only required to collect evidence to prove the case the Queensland Police Service has charged you with.



If you believe you have been mistreated by any police officers, please feel free to contact any police station either in writing, by phone or by attending the station. If you think you will not be treated fairly about any complaint you make, you are free to contact the Crime and Misconduct Commission, which is entirely independent of the Queensland Police Service.
