Belly,
Yeah they're questionable folk but most of the people I know are dodgy in some respect and dope dealing isn't considered a mortal sin in suburbia.
The bigger questions are about the track record of interference of some Australian political factions in the administration of justice and the spinning of the story for political advantage.
You've also got to take into consideration the peculiar zeitgeist of the first decade of this century, Ms Corby isn't going to recognise this country when she eventually returns, 2005 almost seems a lifetime ago.

JOM maybe you move in the wrong circles.
Drug dealers are not the type of person I would ever see as worth while knowing/mixing with.
Side stepped her movie last night but am unlikely to be able to avoid press media showing her in the next month.

I occasionally do some voluntary work in town, and if I take a book to read on the bus, I certainly know the difference in the weight of my bag, from when I don't take one, walking to half-mile or so to work. What's a book - half a pound ?

If I carried a nine-pound (4.1 kg) weight in my bag, I would certainly know it, especially after a night on the red stuff.

A noble gesture, Hasbeen. But entirely pointless.

>>I am hoping to get through to TV news directors, & even more importantly to the advertisers that this stuff costs them audience. Thinking people simply turn off.<<

The advertisements are not targetted at "thinking people".

Someone did a spot poll of our local Saturday morning café group (country town): Who's sick of the media coverage of Corby? 100%. Then the thought - maybe just our older generation? The survey was extended to young waitresses, barista, other tables. 100%. So the turn-off is across generations and gender. It's a media beat-up.

Cossomby,

Ah, but did you survey the Housos who watch Big Brother and 'current affairs' shows like 60Minutes?' Our Schapelle' would be their heroine and toasted with a Bundy'n'Coke, or Vodka Cruiser for the 'girls'.

The drink and potato chip advertisers want their millions of Centrelink dollars.
