Sentence construction is a mine field I learn as I go.
Yet I published a weekly union 4 page hand out news letter for years.
My spelling was just dreadful, only got a bit better after the spell check.
Mate a long time ago I learned that I am far from alone, School was a Luxury few eldest sons of big familys, or bush familys could afford.
May be worth noting the best truck driver/bull dozzer operator I ever saw can not read or write.
I think without reserve every one has something they do better than most, and much to contribute.

I really must challenge much of what you've just said ! Where you've sought to disregard your own abilities to write lucidly and coherently, with correct spelling and logical syntax.

Actually, I've been reading most of your threads and Topics for the past couple of years now, and if everyone on this Forum could write as clearly and as succinctly as you, it would indeed be a real pleasure to read it. I may have mentioned to you previously, for some of my many sins, I was consigned to the Police Academy for a couple of years. At that time it was decided by those who 'know', recruits who possessed undergraduate degrees, would make much better and smarter cops.

Thus it came to pass, we were saddled with a heap of educated idiots all wishing to become police. Cutting a long story short, marking examination papers became a nightmare, as most of them could barely construct a decent sentence or create paragraphs, in fact describe clearly a relatively simple incident, with correct spelling ? Nor could they transcribe accurately, in their official notebooks, an 'adopted statement' of a basic motor vehicle accident ? And these people, were supposed to be the new breed - well educated, but almost illiterate !

Be assured BELLY, you've no worries my friend with much of what you write. Though to be fair, apparently in modern University, very little notice is taken, with issues of poor spelling or inadequate grammar, as long as the Examiner can understand their answers, that's all that matters ? Afraid, the Courts' don't accommodate that particular view, too well ?

I as you will know have little trouble talking and have used that informal debate to my advantage.
But look at my first posts here and see a difference.
I posted in other sites some 5.000 posts and at times the message got hidden in the spelling.
Yet there too I found the Humorous side.
After I became one of the six RTA delegates representing NSW at the peak body, Enterprise Bargaining Unit my news letter saw a well meaning few make up a cover sheet for it,all in good fun.
It depicted me as that teddy bear who likes honey, not remembering his name.
It said *Belly Bear my spelling is OK but my words wobble and the letters end up in the wrong place*
Mate taking the Micky out of myself always lets me do it, in a friendly way, to my mates
And bloke as I became the voice for near a third of this states road workers latter a union official, I found my true view of myself an aid in remembering I was only there to express the views of those I served.
