I harp on about Catholicism, I find the Church repugnant for its past actions and what it pursues today. That in no way implies that the underlying teachings are bad, in fact just the opposite is true, and any fair minded person would agree that the "love thy neighbor" stuff etc, is good. I believe organised religions have become morally corrupted to the point where the good that some adherents outwardly do is negated by the evil of the organisation. Incidentally, I think the good done by these adherents would take place even if the church failed to exist, because the people are basically good. The best analogy I can come up with is, you do not murder people because there is a law that says not to murder people, but because you are not the murdering type and its not in you to do so because of your goodness. People and organised religions, including Islam, are a bit like that.
I say fear the religion and fear some of the followers, but do not fear all of those that are within.
