Hanukkiyah - What Is a Hanukkah Menorah - http://www.tabletmag.com/scroll/155419/how-to-get-wax-off-your-menorah& A hanukkiyah..is a candelabrum with eight candleholders(branches)..in a row and..a ninth candleholder set a little above the others. It is different from a menorah, .. http://judaism.about.com/od/holidays/a/How-To-Light-The-Hanukkah-Menorah.htm Lighting the Menorah on the First Night of Hanukkah On the first night of Hanukkah and on all other nights during the holiday, the middle candle (called a shamash) is lit first. The shamash does not count as one of the Hanukkah candles, but is used to light all the other candles. You can learn more about this tradition in: What Is a Hanukkiyah? Families usually light their Hanukkah menorah directly or soon after nightfall. If Hanukkah begins on Shabbat, the Hanukkiyah should be lit just before sundown. Place a candle in the rightmost position on your menorah. Now hold the shamash and recite the following blessings: Blessed are You, O Lord Our God, Ruler of the Universe, Who has sanctified us with Your commandments and commanded us to kindle the lights of Hanukkah. Blessed are You, O Lord our God, Ruler of the Universe, Who made miracles for our forefathers in those days at this time. Blessed are You, O Lord Our God, Ruler of the Universe, Who has kept us alive, sustained us and brought us to this season. Note that you can see Sephardic/Modern Israeli versions of these blessings in: Hanukkah Candle Lighting Blessings. After these blessings are said the shamash is lit and the first Hanukkah candle (the one you placed in the rightmost position of your menorah) is kindled using the flame from the shamash. Place the shamash in its place on your menorah. (Usually there will be a special spot for it in the middle of your menorah.) the true ones http://0.tqn.com/d/judaism/1/G/B/0/-/-/chanukkiyah.jpg http://bettertogivegifts.com/hanukkah-reminder/ the false/ones http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/76/RoyLindmanHanukkahMenorah.jpg/220px-RoyLindmanHanukkahMenorah.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=BoG2uhxeN6E http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=PCLnie3HPMg WASHINGTON..US President Barack Obama..had three unique tasks to juggle on Thursday night,..and only at the White House were they obviously interlinked. http://whatreallyhappened.com/content/lighting-national-menorah Posted by one under god, Saturday, 7 December 2013 7:03:21 PM

Loudmouth "Where does this bucket of money come from"
Where does the money paying for all today's publicly funded projects come from? I want most of those projects privatised or abolished. So that's where much of it will come from. You answered yourself: spent and circulated. A tax on bank transactions would collect a small amount from each transaction. Since Joe Blow doesn't have a lot of these, compared to Coca Cola or Georgina Rinehart, he won't pay much tax and will also receive the payment. A tax on *all* bank transactions (no deductions/exemptions) would tax many things not currently taxed (e.g. no-gain stock trades and house sales, charities, religious organisations). Wow, heaps of public money just appeared out of thin air! Just by changing the tax law. Is Mise "a little study of language origins!" I have, moron. I'm well aware of Indo-European origins. I've already referred to it several times. That was millenia ago. But what happened *after* that? There are no Proto-Indo-Europeans alive today, nor Proto-Germanic, Proto-Balto-Slavic, Proto-Celtic languages or peoples. There are *no* Proto peoples/cultures in existence today, only their differentiated descendants. Proto-origins would justify the Chinese takeover of Tibet. "Aborigines... deportations" This is an *immigration* policy, just as "White Australia" was. Were Aborigines deported under "White Australia"? The only thing "inevitable" here are your pathetic Nazi allusions. I said "destroy any semblance of our heritage/history/ancestry". Semblance = appearance or form. Obviously you can't destroy the past. You can destroy it's influence on the present and future *form* of our people/culture. "Negros on the First Fleet" How many? Minuscule. Irrelevant. You guys keep referring to negligible anomalies, while ignoring the *significant* influences. Pathetic! "The First Fleet wasn't called multicultural for nothing." It wasn't called that at all. It was called a convict transport. The principal diversity were the crimes committed. Should this justify a criminals-preferred immigration policy today? one under god, you're one to talk about psychotic ramblings.
"the challenge..of some new thought" We are not talking about a new thought, but a new people/cultural environment being imposed on us. Does God approve? Then he approves the Chinese invasion of Tibet and every other invasion in history, no matter how destructive. This is not metaphysical or theoretical mumbo-jumbo. It is happening right now in the real world. "the question arises..of 'racial''..not just facial..'purity'" Who said "purity"? It's a percentage-based match. Nobody will be 100%. NOBODY! White Australians are "pure"? LOL! We're a mongrel of all the peoples of the British Isles (themselves mongrels) plus some other Europeans (also mongrels). "born ozzies..but dad was a backpacker" Again, how many? Again, miniscule. Same for mixed-race, plastic surgery, deformities or any other anomaly. These rare variations constitute a tiny fraction of our population and the population of other countries. Irrelevant! "your ALL life expressions..of god" And "Australians" (i.e. "White Australians") are too? Would you happily wipe out a dog or cat breed, just because the "species" would still survive? Do "Australians" have less divine validity than "kelpies" (themselves a mongrel, possibly with some dingo mixing)? Danielle "The Brahmins I have met" Ooh, let's import the caste system while were at it. And why do they look so much like us? Because they refused to breed with "inferior" people. Nazis! You must also be *born* Brahmin. You can't be "naturalised". Phonecians? The ancient world is not a "short span in time" away. Even ancient Rome and Greece would be irrelevant today if it weren't for the *revival* of interest in the 18th century. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find links between Middle Eastern/Asian Caucasoids and European Caucasoids. There all caucasoid! But what of the cultural changes in the last few millenia? Massive differences! Sure a few non-European Caucasoids might "match" the prototype. But how many, compared to how many Europeans-and-their-direct-descendents? "part of the common gene pool, forming a common identity. That is not bad." So why do you want to destroy that not-bad "common" entity, Europeans, a.k.a. Whites? Shockadelic,
"So why do you want to destroy that not-bad "common" entity, Europeans, a.k.a. Whites?" Do you really believe that the numbers currently entering Australia would effect our common entity ... ? I don't believe our common entity is so very fragile, in fact, I believe it to be very strong. You stated earlier: "... and if we do change, that it be *our* choice, not something imposed on us." And I concurred, absolutely. I believe the vast majority of Australians would concur also. Posted by Danielle, Sunday, 8 December 2013 12:18:11 AM

Shockadelic,
I, the moron, am also unhappy about the changes to our culture but as the majority of such changes come from the USA via film, TV, music and the Internet then not much can be done about it, and not all of it is 'White'. One estimate of the descendants of two of the First Fleet negroes is 20,000 and that is only from two. There was a negro community in Sydney, "Dixieland", but they dispersed over the years so there may be a million or so Australians with Negro ancestors, a not insignificant number. Why were there Negroes on the First Fleet? Because they were living in England and got caught in petty crime and thus transported and those that get a mention were First Fleeters, how many came on other convict transports is anyone's guess and how many came as free settlers isn't known either; no one bothered to take any notice. There are different/interpretations..of the origin of the menorah.
Exodus 25:31-37: "You shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand shall be made of hammered work: its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers shall be of one piece with it.
32And there shall be six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it"
Many believe that it symbolizes the burning bush that Moses saw on Mount Sinai. Others believe that it represents the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden.

[aborigonal meaning='river of life'..[see rev22'2
Another interpretation says
that the seven branches represent the seven days of Creation.
The menorah was a central feature of the Temple that burned pure olive oil prepared especially for this purpose by the High Priest.
The kohanim (Jewish Priests) lit the menorah every evening and cleaned it out every morning. The central light was never allowed to burn out, and was called "Ner Tameed" or "Eternal Light." An Eternal Flame, can be found in most synagogues today to commemorate the original menorah.
Following the victory of the Syrians by the Maccabees, the Jews returned to their destroyed Temple to cleanse and rebuild it. Among the rubble, they found one closed jug of olive oil, which still had the seal of the High Priest.
It only contained enough oil to last for one day, but through a miracle of God, the oil lasted eights days. For thousands of years since then, the miracle of Hanukkah is celebrated with a special eight-branched menorah to commemorate this occasion.
