The cash splash is a stimulus, it may just find it's way into some small business. There doesn't have to be some conspiracy behind everything that Abbott doesn't think is appropriate.
Money in the community ends up back in the reserves, it doesn't disappear. How can you call it wasteful spending.

There is no dead money. Money in reserve creates a surplus (or reduces a deficit) so we have a reduced need to raise taxes further in the future.

However, this still does not answer the question, why the missleading sell?

Labor has this habit of hiding the truth and the voters, even some from that side, are waking up to their decietful tactics.

By all means stimulate the economy ( but not with cash), but call it what it is.
