Well, that IS a problem, Arjay - when the people whose statements you rely on (rather than physical evidence, or corroboration) make statements contrary to what you would like to believe.

We should all be healthily sceptical about everything we read and hear about, Arjay - including [perhaps especially] the stuff which seems to back up our own preferences and prehudices. A little bit of scientific method goes a long way :)

Cheers,

Joe

I hope this is of assistance to the thread…

I've transcribed the relevant part of the 2GB interview by Ray Handley with Robert Baer on the 2nd of September 2010. It's about 6:40 into the interview.

Handley: "Where were you in September of 2001?"

Baer: "I was out of the CIA. I was living at Capitol Hill and I saw the Pentagon burning from my front window."

Handley: "As someone that was in the field doing what you were doing between 76 and 97 could you believe what had transpired on that day in your country?"

Baer: "I was in complete shock. I mean, I felt that this could happen in the United States. We drew this scenario, but no one quite believed in it. What didn't surprise me was afterwards in the 9/11 Commission Report when it came out that the CIA knew about two of the hijackers in San Diego and didn't tell the FBI. Because the FBI and the CIA don't talk and they don't talk until today."

Handley: "It's still not happening? There's no sharing of information?"

Baer: "Just as bad, and with the National Security Agency those are the guys that do the intercepts and there's vast databases, but there's no way to electronically interrogate those databases on the behalf of the CIA or the FBI."

Handley: "What sort of world are we living in 2010? Are we safer now or less safe than we were back then?"

Baer: "I think we are heading towards a war… " (Interview continues)

Wmtrevor,Robert Baer also went on to say that the USA is flat broke and would be forced to retreat to its borders. He said that Israel would probably attack Iran.He is on record on youtube saying that Iran is not a nuclear threat.

Israel is carrying out subversive activities in Iran. One of its reactors has been attacked.30 of their soldiers dead. Some say the war has already begun.Iran has shot down a US drone over its territory and broken a US CIA spy network. Israel should be charged with war crimes. They have 200+ nukes and Iran has not one.

BTW both Bush and Blair have been found guilty of Iraqi war crimes in a Kuala Lumpa high court. They both have to watch where they travel or face arrest.

I totally agree Arjay with the the content of your last.

I have written many songs in my lifetime and if you don't mind me indulging, a line describing the Palestinian conflict and the imbalance from one song,

"What's the news on the cable by the hour ?, people throwing rocks at invading nuclear power,
A big man sitting safely sipping whisky in a tower, lights flame to the fuse, he's got nothing to lose except the world".

Allowing Israel to be armed with Nuclear weapons may yet prove the worst decision ever made.

I'm more extreme in my view than I believe you would be Arjay, but if the U.S believes that Israeli's a entitled a homeland , them they should give them the state of Arkansas, instead of parking them in someone else's homeland and arming them to the teeth.

Sadly the last thing Israel wants is a country in their region with equivalent rights to themselves. Their total dominance over the neighbours is stomach turning and obscene.

And the mythology of religion laughable as justification.

Did you know thinker2 that after WW2 we offered the Jews land around the Ord River for settlement? It is not the ordinary Jews that are the problem but the elites who have used a religious history to justify their dominance. Many of the Palistinians probably have more Jewish blood than all the Anglo white skinned ones who profess their Zionism.

We can find this manifest destiny, right to rule in all manner of cultures and societies.Only at the grass roots of production and productivty exists a real grasp of reality. The easy sleazy money scammer's time,is coming to and end.The West must end the fractional reserve system of counterfeiting our currencies by private banks, and instigate a consititution based on what the USA used to have.

No more Govt debt and today we can initiate direct democracy via computers and the phone system.
