There's a difference between publishing opinion and publishing lies dressed up as facts.

A real journalist gathers together all the facts and comes to a conclusion based on all those facts.

Pundits (such as Bolt & Devine) start with a conclusion, present only those facts that support it and deliberately ignore the rest.

I can expect such views in independent magazines where you know what sort of publication you are buying but not in what is supposed to be a newspaper. Opinion pieces should be labelled as such and are basically unpaid political advertisements or tools for lobbyists pursuing their own agendas.
