I think the Fort Knox CT more plausible than the "Climate Scientists falsifying data to secure research funding" CT, and much easier to prove. But unless there is an independent audit, any speculation serves what purpose?

Of more interest to me are ideas that can be tested. I myself am rather dubious of the quality of sterling silver being sold. This view is not a result of CT websites, but because of a neodymium magnet I own. Old and hand made silver pieces tend to pass the test, but much of the mass-produced stuff I have tested is magnetic, some highly so. Does this make me sure that all mass-produced silver sold by jewelers is fake? No, but it makes me cautious.
