I read the piece, Arjay, thanks for asking.

>>These reactors were in the wrong place with not enough safe guards instigated. They were too low for Tsunamis and on an earthquake zone. Those spent fuel rods should have been in a more secure area.<<

So far, so incompetent.

But where is the conspiracy, and what is its objective?

The closest you got to showing your hand was...

>>Hopefully this will be a wakeup call for the neo-cons in the USA who see limited nuclear weapons (mini nukes) as a means of subduing China and Russia.<<

What I couldn't work out was how badly-placed and poorly-managed nuclear facilities in Japan have an impact on this particular (subdue China and Russia) agenda.

And while you are explaining it to me, perhaps you could tell me who caused the earthquake and tsunami in the first place.

Of course, it was these guys.

Silly of me not to have noticed.

I don't think Arjay is referring to a conspiracy here Pericles, but just making the simple point that maybe we are not actually clever enough yet, to be messing with nuclear power.

Nuclear energy like others forms of energy is driven by profits, control and power.
Not necessarily by necessity, or by the lack of alternatives.

I too like Arjay, am happy to except nuclear power generation as long as I know it is clean as claimed, and safe.

There is possibly, at least a chance of a cover-up here by the nuclear industry don't you think Pericles with regard to the extent of contamination and their capacity to do anything about it.

If the truth be known, it's probably up to the gods, as to the eventual outcome in Japan at this point and for me this makes the point that Arjay is making, "that maybe, we are premature in using nuclear power, without having adequate scientific acumen in place first".

I was also prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt, thinker 2.

>>I don't think Arjay is referring to a conspiracy here Pericles, but just making the simple point that maybe we are not actually clever enough yet, to be messing with nuclear power.<<

Which is why, when I couldn't see one, I asked him the direct question, "What is the conspiracy here?".

To which I got the response "Pericles; You too have failed to read the article. You know our own Govt constantly lies to us.eg Juliar on the carbon tax." And we'd already had the bit about "corporate controlled Govts" and "the neo-cons", which are Arjay's favoured "here be dragons" conspiracy indicators. The presence of all these trigger-phrases indicates "conspiracy" in Arjay-speak.

But perhaps you are right. Perhaps it was just a warning.

Bit obscure though. Too much emphasis on lying governments, and not enough about being "clever enough" to handle nuclear power.

But let's face it, the French have been doing it for years.

And if we're i) not as clever as the French and ii) have a government that tells even more lies than theirs, then we aren't responsible enough to rub two sticks together.

Neither France, nor Australia, by the way, is particularly prone to earthquakes or tsunamis.

arjay I too read the article, and disagree with it ok?
A 14 meter high Tsunami ,following a record earth quake.
Not your every day event, not likely to be seen here.
Water, nothing Else, saw them built too close to the sea.
Think we can and will do much better.
Remember soon 500 plus working around the world, many more to come.
Luddites may first tell me what truly is the Short term alternative.

Pericles,Keith Snow made the point that the US sent CIA as a first repsonse ,instead of nuclear experts in remedying the crisis.Companies like General Electric were more concerned with cover up than clean up.That is the reality. You may see a conspiracy theory here on my behalf but this is a stated reality by Keith Snow. You seem to have a disconnect between the reality and the intended cover ups by Corporates and Govts.

The point is that corporates have too much control over our Govts and we cannot rely on them to build safe nuclear power plants since profit always over rides safety and long term sustainability.

Where do our Govts now get their money from? Since we sold off all the State banks and the Commonwealth they are financed by private corportations who have interests in Power plants ,oil, arms, drugs etc they virtually tell our Govts, when and how high they should jump. This is why our Govts are so incompetent and cannot make decisions in the interest of the people.

Two earthquakes within the past five days Pericles. A baby near Innisfail and another one in S.A. this afternoon - they are increasing during the La Nina system for some reason!
