Come Philo that is a view very few would agree with.
But in truth it would not sell me as a reason to getaway from kneeling to England.
Boring stuff 1.000 invitations? hat maker to put hats on heads.
British taxpayers need a break, hard times over there and who pays for this?

Belly,
When have you knelt to England? As for me never!
How is Australia becoming a Republic going to give the British taxpayers a break? The hard times in England is not caused by Australia under its present Constitution. Australia will not pay more than any other countries' representative attending.

So what you have said as reasons is total nonsense.

Come Philo have another look at that post.
I highlighting my view of Royalty in general I mentioned the wedding.
And my view English taxpayers, who pay the Royal family's wages need a break.
No reference to Australians paying.
Now ever sing God save the King?
See the union jack up front?
On the day after the king died, this kid, me,in my first attempt at singing God save the Queen, along with ten other 6 years olds laughed.
Mrs Rose an old tyrant marched down the Isle hit us very hard,as she cried for a dead man none of us ever knew.
Philo I have had to salute that Queen often, but she is just a left over from medieval days best put behind us.
The English are my Friends and cousins but they know we do no wrong in doing what every family does leaving home, back when needed but it is time to fly.

The thread has quietly died as all threads do.
I know, yes understand my view here had a rough edge.
Nice young rich couple.
Both good looking both probably good too.
Royalty, the firm as HMTQ calls it is a left over from tribalism days when the strongest chief ruled as king.
Powered until recently by the public purse still in part so.
I watch the middle east with hope and pain too, all those deaths.
Read about Christchurch, much the same feelings.
Then see page after page about a wedding.
Sorry if I offended any one, besides Philo, but are we not past such a firm, a leftover from our tribal past?
