you pick up a bat, aim for the burglar's knees, he/she falls and hits their head and dies.
we are unique,
do you think he/she would cop a bat if they weren't on the premises in the first place ??

by the sounds of things you have not been to Singapore where it is safe to walk the streets. I have met a number of people in Australia who have raped. murdered and stolen with no regrets. If it was your daughter who was murdered and raped with some scum bag laughing in court you might change your mind.

btw I never said all killers should receive capital punishment.

How can anyone claim the prison system failed!

He didn't escape did he? So the system did not fail. We, the community, remain protected from this scum.

High security means less chance of escape, it does not mean modycodling those inside.

I wont lose any sleep about williams death, nor care about the one that did the deed.

Lost family from murder Runner and a girlfriend which does not change my mind on capital punishment. Too many reasons to list, one already mentioned. Capital punishment with our current outdated/archaic legislation would not work in the favour of innocent law abiding Australians, finding themselves victims of a burglar, murderer or rapist if we are to kill them in self defence. We think twice now about 'gaol'if we contemplate striking back and badly injuring a burglar for instance. They sue for their injuries and win in many cases, for pete's sake.

Individual you missed my point God love you.

Read the explanation to Runner. Its about our laws that would cost a victim of crime's life if they were to defend themselves in a home invasion as one example. Given our archaic legislation dating back to the early 1900's. Loopholes in all of our legislation given high crime committed today. Criminals playground legally. What more could a criminal want or need? Light sentences, entertainment, counselling, great tucker, and their victim in gaol right alongside them as a result of their victim defending themselves in a home invasion.

Dont think for one moment I am on the burglar's side strewth!

we are unique,
yes, I realised the moment I posted that I missed your point. Yes it is one of the most frustrating & unfair aspects of our misguided academic guided judiciary. I mean what on earth are these people thinking by saying one isn't allowed to defend oneself's family & property. As far as my morals are concerned I'll give everyone the benefit of the doubt. If someone does wrong, especially deliberately, then the perpetrator has waived his/her general rights. If someone heads for me with the intend to harm me than the only thing to stop me from bowling him/her over should be my ability to do so. I should not get convicted for defending myself.
