"The comment in no way applied, nor was it meant to apply, to Arjay in this thread."

Thanks for your detailed explanation and apology. As I inferred in the "Rot in Hell" thread though, I still think my post stands as is, and won't be backing down from it.

There's nothing particularly wrong with the manner in which Arjay has posted, granted, but to me the content of his post definitely fits well within the 'shock jockery' tag. I wouldn't have chosen that tag myself mind you, but I was happy to latch onto it and still consider it quite appropriate. Arjay's alarmism in my opinion is both misguided and misdirected and deserving of a fairly scathing response.

So thank you for your concern but I won't be retracting anything! :)

Some are more into character assasination rather than considering the realities.I will not bother with a reponse.

My view is that the entire US political system has been corrupted by the US Federal Reserve. They have more power and money than any other cartells on this planet. You only have to study their history to realise the influence they have on this planet. It is the reserve banking systems of the world that create inflation through the fractional reserve banking system {ie loaning out 9 times the real value of currency]which eventually leads to collapse.

When deflation happens, they then add to the problem with more money[eg IMF $1.4 trillion cyber money] further depreciating currencies, then buying up the cheap assets themselves. We are now witnessing the grandest legalised theft in our history and we are begging for more bailout money generated in a computer which not only must be repaid, but also we have the priviledge of paying interest.Wouldn't you like to counterfeit money and loan it out at interest?

If you believe nothing else of what I've said ,support Ron Paul in the auditing of the US Federal Reserve. The US tax payer has given them $ Trillions and yet they are unaccountable in terms of where the money has gone and their political influence.Only 11% of Congress currently support HR 1207 to audit the Fed.This alone give us a powerful hint of the Fed's influence.

Is it just me, or does anybody else routinely skip over one under god's incomprehensible posts?

I honestly can make neither head nor tail of it.

Life is too short, he is on my list of 'don't bother, waste of time.'

I know this is rude and there may well be something of worth in his posts.... somewhere.

Apologies UOG - politely suggest you make your point clearly and on topic.

There;s a busy little private company..the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation.

It turns out that this company holds 23 trillion dollars in assets, and had 917 trillion dollars worth of transactions in 2002...23,000,000,000,000 dollars in assets.

As it turns out,..they are trusted with that kind of resources. because they seem to have a monopoly on what they do...

In brief, they process the vast majority of all stock transactions in the United States as well as for many other countries.

And 99% of all stocks in the U.S. appear to be legally owned by them.

In the old days,..when you owned stocks you would have the stock certificates lying in your safe...And if you needed to trade them, you needed to get them shipped off to a broker.

Nowadays that would be considered very cumbersome, and it would be impractical to invest via computer or over the phone. So the shortcut was invented that the broker would hold your stocks instead of you.

but they're just holding them in trust and trading them for you.
And you're in reality the beneficiary rather than the owner.

Which is all fine and dandy if everything goes right..it appears the rules were then changed so the brokers are not allowed any longer to put the stocks in their own name.

Instead, what they typically do is to put the stocks into the name of "Cede and Company" or "Cede & Co" or some such variation. And the broker might tell you that it is just a fictitious name, and will explain why it is really more practical to do that than to put it in your name.

The problem with that is that it appears that Cede isn't just some dummy name,..but an actual corporation that DTCC controls.

It is a private company, owned by the same people (major U.S. banks) who own the Federal Reserve Bank.

But if there's a national U.S. emergency and/or the U.S. government becomes unable to pay its debts, well, they might just not give you your stocks back.Because legally they own them.Something to think about.

An fascinating article about this whole thing is here.

Leigh,
Here is the link to the original document which was produced and disseminated to US law enforcement agencies by the DHS under the authority of Janet Napolitano:
http://www.fas.org/irp/eprint/rightwing.pdf
It uses the phrase "right wing extremism" 38 times which seems pretty extreme to me.

Interestingly the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service has a more realistic perspective on the source of extremist threats.

"AIVD: Extreme Left more Dangerous than Extreme Right"
"There is no question of a trend towards extreme right terrorism" according to the latest annual report from the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD).
In contrast the “far left” Antifascist Action (AFA) arm of the Anti-Fascist and Capitalist Archive Collective (KAFKA) which “is regularly cited by Dutch 'quality media' as a research institute into rightwing extremism”, “is in reality a movement that uses violence to achieve its goals”.
According to AIVD, "the picture is often evoked of antifascists defending themselves against aggressive rightwing extremists, while the roles are generally reversed."
Antifascist Action is involved in “intimidation” and “violent actions”, “increasingly operating in small cells”.
As well as the far left AIVD is concerned about “Islamic extremism” and “warns that radical Muslims often wear a mask…express(ing) themselves more moderately in public than in closed circles".

I find the Dutch slant on reality much more convincing.
