Let us look at it from another view for the purpose of this thread you lead the opposition ,how would you do it?
Your task is clear to start to rebuild, find favor with the electorate, and return to government as soon as possible.
In the short term given the recent polls and the election results a period exists we know as honeymoon is that true?
I think I would want a fair share of me too in my short term actions, maybe judge what the public think on issues and while asking questions go that way.
Just maybe for a while opposition for oppositions sake will be counter productive what do you think?

Dear Belly,

I agree with you. Opposition for opposition's sake is counter-productive. I hope that the Liberal Party will listen to their
Elder Statesmen - like Malcolm Fraser who systematically rejected the Howard Government's stance on a formal apology to the Aboriginal people, on the stolen generations, on reconciliation, and on mandatory sentencing. He called on Mr Howard to show stronger moral leadership. Of course that didn't happen. And they lost the election.

This time around they have to change their tactics. Malcolm Fraser reminds party members that, - Menzies always emphasised that the Liberal Party was a liberal party...

Menzies specifically rejected conservatism as a force within the Liberal Party. Fraser adds, "Now, reading those particular Menzies speeches today, conservatism seems to be -- well, the whole political spectrum has moved to the right... It's moved to the right and I think social issues, human issues have become subsidiary to economic and financial issues."

If the Liberal Party wants to be taken seriously - they need to concern themselves with not only economic and financial issues - they need to pay attention to the social and human issues as well. Otherwise nothing will change for them. And as this last election showed - scare tactics no longer work. A strong moral leadership does.

What we need is not an opposition but representatives that are there for the people of the electorates.

Look at NSW state for example on how labor dictatorship and policy have no regards to the people.

So until we get people who will stand up for the people and not party politics then we have nothing but traitors to the australian people.

While I will no longer respond to you Tapp, Stu please know I do wish you well keep in touch with reality friend.
If I was leading the opposition? how about petitions, say use my party's home page to ask voters what they think on issues.
Run petitions to be presented in the house on issues, mainly ones that can get support from not just sections of my own supporters.
Huffnpuff has an issue , I understand the dreadful pain involved, but I know whitewash is easier than truth for some.
Why not a nation wide petition asking for a royal commission and an admission welfare let them down?
Let us say sorry in the formula we have been told of , yes too you too Huffnpuff and your victims.
But to poll issues build a following would be a start for opposition.
I think the tough as nails head kicking style of the Liberals deputy leader may be best stored away for a while, it may hurt her more than help just now.
Nothing can change the fact it was a most memorable loss not an endorsement .

I SENT MY COMPLIANT TO HIM AND THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER ALSO KEVEN GREENE ANYONE POSSABLE EVEN DR.NELSON TONY ABBOTT ALL OF THEM HAVE MY EMAILS SO I GUESS THEY JUST PLASE THEM IN THEIR JUNK MAIL AS THAT IS WHAT THEY THINK OF US FORGOTTEN AUSTRALIANS , thats what politics is about lying to each other and covering up the dreadful things that have happend in ones life though in this case its thousands of lives that they have destroyed not just one persons life , they the goverment is covering up as to what happend to us children in these homes and they should feel a shamed as to what we VICTIMS THE FORGOTTEN AUSTRALIANS SUFFERED kind regards micheal take care all as the goverment don:t seem to care about us,.FROM A REAL VICTIM OF THE FORGOTTEN AUSTRALIANS
