"Why is there no 'sensible centre'"

Why do some assume the centre is sensible? The overriding aim of both major parties in Australia for at least the last two decades is pandering to the centre. And we are in dire straits because of it.

The 'centre' is no man's land. Stands for nothing. No opinions. No loyalties. There is the right. There is the left. Nothing else. Calling yourself a centrist is announcing that you don't have a mind of your own. You are a doormat.

The centre isn't a no mans land ttbn.
It's a place where I can call out both the progressive left and the traitorous rights bs.

I don't care for Albo's pro-mass-immigration and other stuff-ups.
And I don't care for the rights Israel centric world.
I'm not going to eat the shite sandwich, I'll throw it back at the person who served it up saying 'I"m not eating this crap!'

I saw Trump aligned with Israel and gave his MAGA the benefit of the doubt, and look where that mess lead, I won't make the same mistake with my own country.
Pauline Hanson wore an Israeli scarf into parliament.
I don't care if she says all the right things, I will not support a traitor.

AC

You can “call out” whatever you want from the wilderness. Nobody of any consequence is listening to you. You are as mad as a cut cat: not even amusing anymore. You are making less and less sense in every wild post, yabbering about people and things that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic.

You can never explain your rants when invited to, so I will just say that calling Pauline Hanson a “traitor” because she wore an “Israeli scarf into parliament” makes you nitwit of the week. Australia is actually still officially an ally of Australia, despite having an antisemitic Labor government, and nutjobs like you.

Hi ttbn,

"Australia is actually still officially an ally of Australia" I would hope so ttbn, are YOU confused, nah, just your "normal" self. Hanson is a traitor, and a sell out to Australia! Hanson is working for Gina Rhinoceros, so Gina can get even richer on the assets and resources owned by 28 million Australian! If that's not a traitor, what is?

Claiming that there is no ‘centre’ and ‘… calling yourself a centrist is announcing that you don't have a mind of your own. You are a doormat…’ totally confirms my thesis that many people today are retreating to a tribal instinct of protecting what’s mine and bugger everybody else. If I’m not correct, then nobody else can be either mentality. A centralist can have their preferred position (left or right), they can see the pros and cons of the situation, and can accept a decision which positively effects the majority. That’s hardly being a doormat.
