I was interested, but also concerned to read of a recent story where a transwoman 'Freya Golding' in Australia has been allowed to play football with other women, despite objections from some, including football clubs on the matter.

The AFL has however ruled against the football clubs and allowed the transwoman to play.

The decision was made under the AFL's Community Football Gender Diversity Policy, which differs from the rules applied at elite and semi-professional levels - something I find odd and contradictory.

Adelaide Footy League (the party affected) and its CEO John Kernahan said the competition had not changed its position on the potential danger posed to other female players through the transwomen's involvement in football, considering the transwoman playing as a safety risk.

The AFL committee's ruling has been accepted by all involved and Freya Golding remains eligible to play - despite the impacts on female players in the football teams.

It is something I am very concerned about. Female only football teams were set up for a range of reasons, one to enable female players to be part of football and to play with other people of a similar body type etc. Also to be away from toxic masculinity in men's/boys football as well. All things not unreasonable.

What happens if all the other players willfully and deliberately go after the transgender?
