stop being prejudiced, and face the facts
Paul1405,
That applies more to you than it does to me ! Not answering is a clear indication that you don't actually have an argument to fall back on. Wrong migration rather than migration is what's tearing up modern societies. Early migration to Australia & subsequent introduction to a life style rather than mere existence are facts that are now not only embraced by 99.9% of the original dwellers on this continent but actually demanded as a Right.
Many of the newcomers of recent aren't of the calibre you mentioned & that is where the problems have become a dilemma for the rest of this society. The question for Australians is; Do they want to be ruled like Iran after the Shah or do they want to be ruled like Australia before Whitlam ? It'd be very interesting to hear the opinion of people who are employed for their merit rather than just qualified for something for which there are no customers to spend their earnings on !

Hi Indy,

There is not much chance that Australia will in the foreseeable future, be ruled like Iran, nor is there much chance of Australia before Whitlam. The vast majority would not have clue about before Whitlam, a bloody war where hundreds of young Australians were murdered, not you, as you dodged national service.

Australia by world standards is still the lucky country, for all the political whinging and whining that goes on, Australia is a great place to live. Surly you can testify to that, having migrated from some dung heap to the lucky country.

The problem a lot of old people, like yourself, suffer from is "rose coloured glasses" always hankering for the "good old days". The truth is there were just as many problems for people back in the "good old days" as there is today. You might not think so, as you were able to exit the dung heap and land in Australia, more precisely the Centrelink Office, where you have been a permanent fixture ever since.

I think the left and the right are just making things worse for each other and none of us will get what we want.

Some people will support immigration, and there will be more people, and when it goes bad, the right will become empowered.

Why cant the left just support a sensible policy so the right don't end up saying 'we told you so'

How the Belfast attack played into the hands of Britain's far right

The left and the right need to learn something important.

They are not enemies, they are each others neighbours and between the pair of them they are ruining the whole street and neighbourhood.

Does democracy bring unity or cause division?

From the Internet;

The "Kalergi Plan" is a widely debunked, antisemitic conspiracy theory claiming that a secretive elite is implementing a plot to eliminate white Europeans through mass immigration, miscegenation, and forced integration.
Distortion of History: The theory falsely attributes a secret agenda to Count Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi, an Austrian-Japanese philosopher who founded the Pan-European Union in the 1920s and advocated for peaceful, democratic European unity.
Fabricated Intent: Proponents of the theory take selected excerpts from Coudenhove-Kalergi's 1925 book Practical Idealism out of context. While he philosophized about a future blended "Eurasian-Negroid race" to dissolve national and class conflicts, he did not advocate for forced migration or ethnic replacement.
Origin of the Myth: The concept of a sinister "plan" was actually invented decades later, most notably propagated by Austrian neo-Nazi Gerd Honsik in the early 2000s.
Ideological Ties: The theory is a specific, antisemitic strain of the broader "Great Replacement" white genocide conspiracy, which serves to scapegoat minorities and Jewish people for societal changes.

a bloody war where hundreds of young Australians were murdered,
Paul1405,
Tens of thousands all up were killed in Vietnam to keep the likes of you safe, for what ?
Whitlam sold Australia's security for votes from people like you. For what exactly ? To back-door this nation now ? To send people to war is not murder however, to sell people out like the Left is doing is treason & akin to murder !
