Just heard on GayBC Radio that Unions demand a 6% pay rise for workers. Would it not be more sensible to have a 6% pay cut for high Government bureaucrat earners who get paid criminally far too much already with regard to usefulness & benefit to Australian society !
Bringing costs down improves economics due to competitiveness, not increased cost.
I was a blue collar worker & yes a bit more was always welcome however, I always failed to see the benefits because pay rises invariably bring about increased expenses.

The Public Service Board should be made to front up to explain on what grounds they came to warrant that pay rise !

How hypocritical, non productive aged welfare addicts with their snouts firmly in the trough, wanting to deny the real productive workers a justified pay increase. 2.67 million snouts sucking up $62.2 billion in aged welfare cash payments from the taxpayer last financial year, add in all the other pensioner perks and its more like $100 billion! The numbers are growing exponentially, and this Aged Pension handout nonsense is unsustainable and needs to be replaced with a Seniors National Service.

About 2 million aged pensioners are living in a owner occupied house, with no mortgage. Means test the house, and pay down the pension to cover the million dollars in assets. That would immediately reduce the aged welfare payout by about $47 billion. Those who agree to give up this housing largesse could be housed in government provided barrack style accommodation, one bedroom pre-fabs would be cheap and quick to build, temporary accommodation could be provided in tent encampments on the margins of cities and towns, close to churches and cemeteries, while older folk are waiting for work and housing reassignment. The new supply of existing housing would be used to house more productive people, solving the housing problem overnight! A win win situation for all.
