Well Paul, I am no expert, not even a casual student of the Koran
but verse 9:29 says to kill Jews and Christians if they reject Islam
or refuse to pay the Jizya Tax.

That is why so many peoples around the world became moslems. High Taxes
remind you of anyone ?

Bezza,

As I said these things contained in "holy books" are wide open to interpretation and context. I'm not a great fan of any of the three monotheistic religions, with much of what they preach/teach, which can be taken to extreme. God as we know him/her/it has been open to interpretation for 2000 years. The Christian God was once someone to be feared, who was always at the ready to exact vengeance and punishment on transgressors, which justified the war and killing taking place at the time. Today however, the Christian God has morphed into a forgiving and benevolent being opposed generally to war and killing. As recently as the 20th century most Christians in time of war believed God was on their side, and they would pray for God to help them win those wars, and that was a widely held belief, on both sides. The Muslims and Jews are much the same, the extreme will always be extreme in their interpretation of scripture, and the moderates will remain moderate.

I just read a reference to the UK's apparent start in ‘shaking off’ political correctness in relation to public reactions, as the nation “buckles under the pressure of immigration from non-Western countries”.

Australia is certainly ‘buckling’ under the pressure put on it by multicultural maniacs. We are being ‘colonised’ by immigrants’ with the assistance of the political class, supported by the nutters shouting about colonising over two centuries ago, but they quite happy with the new, self-inflicted new colonisation.

Most Australians, sadly, are either too apathetic to react like the Brits - who actually have fewer immigrants per capita than we do - or they actually think its a good idea to trash our "hateful" society.

A combination of apathy and self-hatred has turned Australian society into a a very poor joke. And it's going to get worse.

As I said, things are going to get worse until the truth eventually wins out, as it usually does. Unfortunately, it will be too late by then; certainly for Western civilisation, which won't be the first civilisation to die out, for pretty much the same self-inflicted reasons all the rest died.

The Liberal Party is a micro example of contemporary self-destruction. The party went from what they proudly called the “party of government” to a rump. There is no guarantee that it will survive.

Yes Paul, the bible and others except the Koran have been open to
reinterpretation for much more than 2000 years.
The Koran of course has only been around for 1400 years and publishing
your interpretation of it can get you killed.
I noticed the new leader was being quizzed about immigration and how
the numbers will be managed.
He obviously did not want to commit just now.
The majority know what to say but everyone is too timid.
We will have to get over this soon or we will be run over.
