"Considering most of the building of this Nation was by conservative effort yet you attack Conservatism at every opportunity !"

Indy (The Man from the Un-Named Land) you are either joking or delusional, given what rubbish you post, I would think the latter applies to an old bloke like you.

Progress is achieved by the efforts of Progressive people. Conservatives by their nature resist change, they are people who see themselves as benefiting from the status quo. You see your unearned aged welfare as a benefit to you that you want protected at all cost, so your take a conservative attitude.

Paul1405,
You need to read up on the difference between people who create progress & those who call themselves progressive by hypocritically exploiting the former. Ring a bell with you ?

Hi Fester,

Australia should recognize its history. I think that
I've made that quite clear, both the good parts and
the difficult parts. I prefer our system of government
to the American one.

Today, we're a diverse blend of values, traditions, and
customs that are influenced by a variety of cultures.
And yet we're known for being a laid-back, open,
outgoing and direct than many others.

Each country has its problems. And we have ours. But what
we need to remember is that the vast majority of modern
mainstream Christians, Jews, and Muslims seek a better life
on earth rather than seeking it in heaven.

We need to keep in mind that modern people with normal
family and social relationships and at least partially
rational view of how the world works are not waiting for
for whatever exercises the theological minds of extremists
and fundamentalists.

Most religiously-minded modern person is not a "card-carrying
fundamentalist ".
They are a tiny minority. Of whatever faith, a psychologist
would be likely to declare them to be of unsound mind.

Hi Fester,

Regarding my support of The Voice?

I've explained my support for the Uluru Statement in
the past. I recall ages ago reading Margaret Tucker's
autobiography, "If everyone cared".

I remember the words:

"You can play a tune of sorts on the white keys of a piano.
You can play some sort of tune on the black keys -
but for perfect harmony - you must use both".

I thought it was a good message.Truth telling is a way to
understand our history. It's a key part of reconciliation.
As is allowing self-determination in an advisory capacity.
