I view democracy as the concept of people having a wide range of views and having an equal right to express those views. Autocracy is at variance from democracy in that some views are deemed appropriate and others are deemed as misinformation and disinformation.

On this forum you amply demonstrate a belief in the ethos of democracy, so well done! I think democracy a lynch pin of civilisation as it encourages argument and leads to the development of knowledge, whereas an autocratic mindset has an tendency to shut down debate, vilify people of a differing view and stagnate development. That is why autocracies tend to be corrupt and abysmal cesspits of places.
