Radical extremists linking themselves to a religion, such as Islam are one, Christian fundamentalists with screwed up ideas are another. State sanctioned terrorism as is the case with Israeli terrorism directed towards Palestinians, another example of terrorism.

No that's not what they want. But they are just cavalier about it and don't have the wherewithal to understand its the logical result of the policies they are devoted to.

OTOH some people who think like this really don't care about the results of the policies they advocate, preferring to virtue signal what they think is their superior moral stance and basking in the warm inner glow of that.

They really don't care about the results, secure in the knowledge (or is it hope?) that the consequences will be paid by others. That's why I think it would be a good idea to house these refugees in the electorates of these virtue signallers - so that they learn and suffer the consequences of their naivity.
