An unknown number of people have been killed and injured in a stabbing attack at a festival in the city of Solingen in western Germany, the news agency dpa reports.
No arrests yet, but it is getting to be habit forming.

Witnesses gave a description to the police.

The police have refused to release it to the public. We all know why - its the same every time.

Hilariously the police are asking for help in finding the attacker while refusing to release a description:

* Help us find the attacker
* What does he look like?
* we're not gunna tell you that!!

They also have no idea what the motive might be!!

Some of the public spoke to the media and some of the braver elements of the media have said the perp was Arab looking.

If that happened here our internet censor would be working overtime to have the data suppressed.

Hi Bezza,

Solingen is located 25 km east of Dusseldorf. Oddly enough
it's called the "City of Blades." Being renowned for the
manufacture of fine swords, knives, scissors, and razors.
It's was known and remains the knife-centre of Germany.

According to reports 3 people have been killed and 4 seriously
wounded at the city's 650th anniversary festival. No one
has been arrested. I guess we'll know more as things come
to light.

Apparently the Solingen swords are world famous.

The Festival began on Friday and was supposed to run through
to Sunday with several stages in central streets offering
attractions such as live music, cabaret, and acrobatics.
Tens of thousands of visitors had been expected over the
course of the Festival. Music was being performed at the
time of the attack.

What prompted the attack - I guess we'll find out in due
course. In the meantime - people are in a state of shock.
All we can do is pray that the perpetrator will be caught
soon. A shame that violence should grip such a beautiful
peaceful city.

Hopefully, the authorities do have things under control.

There's the "Solingen-Grafrath" which is the most beautiful
part of Solingen. It's a place where time seems to have
stood still. Located in the north of Solingen. Small but
most beautiful.

It has a historic market square, and a historic town center.
Delicious gastronomy, beautiful little shops, interesting
museums, including the German Blade Museum, the "fauna"
zoo, and wonderful hiking trails.

The old town around the market square at the foot of the
monastery church is also one of the 56 historical city centers
selected in North Rhine Westphalia.

A dream of a place - and a shame that such a violent act
could have taken place nearby. Hard to understand or make
sense of it all.

Looks like it happened at the 'Festival of Diversity'.
Let's see them try and spin that one.
