Hi Bezza,

Thanks for this discussion.

Many of us are still in a state of shock. Many of us may not
have approved of this man and his unsuitability for being
elected as the leader of the super power that is the US. But
no one of sound mind - would want the man dead. It was a
shocking incident. With many questions still unanswered.

Some people have expressed feelings that what goes on in the
US should not concern us in Australia. That is a very narrow
and simplistic view. Of course what happens in the US should
be of concern to us. Whether we like it or not - our security
is very much dependent on the US. Therefore what happens in
that country should be of concern.

Former US President Donald Trump had a very close call.
He's an extremely lucky man. What prompted this 20 year
old Registered Republican voter to take this dire action
we still don't know. There are many conjectures at present.
Perhaps we shall never know.

The US society appears to be a violent, divisive one, and what
is badly needed is calm and the toning down of language. Not
incitement and the creation of even more divisions.

The former US President has left for the Republican Convention.
Hopefully, he will tone down his language and stop inciting people
to "Fight." In the meantime US President Biden has ordered stronger
security for the Republican Convention. Hopefully, nothing bad
will happen. Hopefully also that whoever wins the US Presidential
Election - will be able to accept the results and will attend the
Inauguration in January as a way of unification. A way of setting
an example to all sides of politics - which is what America so
badly needs.

Which the world needs.

Interesting that Foxy managed to blame the victim here. Surely she is more self reflecting than that.

Talking about self-reflection?

There are many American and Australian politicians, as well
as voters on both sides of politics who from the news sources
covering the attack on former US President Trump all agree
that Trump has to accept at least some responsibility for what
happened to him.

When you provoke and incite people by the language you use.
When you tell them to "Fight, Fight, Fight!" "Fight like hell,
or you won't have a country anymore!" You can't claim victim
status when you're taken seriously. You reap what you sow.

And, advising a possible future country's leader to tone
it down. To unite not divide the country - is simply trying to
get the possible future leader to be self-reflective and not
encourage more victimhood for themselves and for others.

Although people who have worked with, and know Trump well,
tell us this is not likely to happen.

Hopefully they're wrong.

Oh Foxy, you're such a fool...

Here's a small snippet of Democrats calling for violence against Trump..

http://x.com/libsoftiktok/status/1812325538620420349

Trump is an existential threat to the power, wealth and future control of the Democrat machine and those who have profited mightily from its control of the media and the US treasury. They wanted him taken out. The violence is all from one side.

But the same fools who fell, for 4 long years, for the media's and Democrats' claims that Biden was mentally fit for the job, will fall for the claims that Trump caused the violence. They will never learn because they are incapable of learning.

mhaze,

I may be such a fool but I'm an optimistic one.

I firmly believe that we are capable of learning.

So let's hope for good outcomes - both of us.
Let's try to unite not divide amongst ourselves.

That much we surely can do?
