'An unnerving atmosphere'.
You mean just like the one Hillary whipped up in 2016? Calling all the Trump supporters deplorables? And women running around cult-like all wearing pussy hats? Yeah I remember Foxy. I'd say Team Hillary started it, and now you lefties can wallow in the shite you created, no offense intended. "Plenty in power have helped conspiracy theories along with dangerous rhetoric into online discussions and chat forums and social media channels. Toning down the rhetoric?" I've been hearing a lot of this talk. Scared little university chumps demanding people tone down the dangerous rhetoric and blaming Elon Musk again for allowing the spread of misinformation and disinformation. 'We must control the minds of the peasantry' 'How dare those human beings think and act like human beings?' - 'This is unacceptable'. I'm so sick of being 'influenced' by a nanny state. These oxygen thieves need to shut their noise holes. I wish they would stop telling people what and how to think. Posted by Armchair Critic, Tuesday, 16 July 2024 11:20:47 PM

Hi AC,
Let me see if I understand what you're saying. So you don't agree that plenty in power have helped conspiracy theories along with dangerous rhetoric into online discussions and char forums and social media channels and you don't approve of toning down the rhetoric that it's an abuse of your freedoms. That more of the same is OK? That Trump's presidency was not defined by division and chaos and fuelled an under current of hate and anger that still exists and continues to manifest? Okkkkay. Thanks for sharing and as usual letting us know how much you value democracy and the protection of freedoms. Posted by Foxy, Wednesday, 17 July 2024 10:32:25 AM

Conspiracy theories
- Does anyone care that I'm open-minded about the existence of dogman? http://northamericancryptids.com/the-michigan-dogman/ I doubt anyone would care. But if I believed the government was complicit in something, then that might be a 'dangerous conspiracy theory' right? I think most Americans accept their own government was complicit in the murder of JFK. And the U.S. is certainly not afraid of using political violence to their own advantage in their foreign policy, so whats the big deal? If people wish to entertain crazy and even ridiculous possibilities of what might've 'really' happened, then that's just human beings being human beings. If I wish to say that the cause of climate change is migratory patterns of the pigs which fly backwards to Antarctica each season and their dung is causing harm and melting leading to a reduction in the size of the antarctic ice sheet... then who on earth even cares? - It's not like I'm not allowed to say it, even if it is ridiculous. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenu >>Xenu also called Xemu, is a figure in the Church of Scientology's secret "Advanced Technology", a sacred and esoteric teaching. According to the "Technology", Xenu was the extraterrestrial ruler of a "Galactic Confederacy" who brought billions of his people to Earth (then known as "Teegeeack") in DC-8-like spacecraft 75 million years ago, stacked them around volcanoes, and killed them with hydrogen bombs. Official Scientology scriptures hold that the thetans (immortal spirits) of these aliens adhere to humans, causing spiritual harm.<< - Crazy enough for you? 'Dangerous rhetoric' You mean people just speculating about world events? Social media. If you think that something someone said is stupid, you're free to say so. You don't have to listen to what anyone says, you can get your own account and post things and others will also be free to not listen to anything you say. I just don't get the big nanny ideal that people need to change who they are and how they think to suit someone else's mold. Saying ridiculous things isn't a crime. If it was the entire population would be in jail. Posted by Armchair Critic, Wednesday, 17 July 2024 11:55:22 AM

Hi Foxy,
'democracy and the protection of freedoms'. Can you please tell me just exactly what the hell you're talking about 'democracy' and 'protection of freedoms'? What do you even mean exactly? I'd like to know if there's any actual common sense in the mind of a trump hater, or is it just all emotion based because you've been told the earth may get swallowed up by the sun if Trump wins? I support Trump on the basis the Biden administration can't change course in Ukraine.
They need a new administration who can stop the war, and maybe start going in a different direction Trump may do so, he can stop they war and act like he brought peace. - A U.S victory, even though they started it. Trumps unpredictable, but the Biden administration can't change course, and we need need a change or course. But Trump can't fix all of America's problems, I think he will make some of them worse, or the Democrats will hamper any legislation that mite help the country. If they are in a bad way now, then democracy will destroy what's left of it with increasing debt, infighting, division, hamstrung governments that won't be able to change things. They're in a democratic downward spiral. They probably actually need a dictator to save them. Posted by Armchair Critic, Wednesday, 17 July 2024 12:13:56 PM

The race for the White House is no longer a competition
over policy as it used to be, but rather a cult or
personality that's driven some Americans to take
their views to the extreme.
Former US President Trump's Presidency was defined by
division and chaos and fuelled an under current of
hate and anger that still exists and continues to
manifest.
Plenty in power have helped conspiracy theories along
with dangerous rhetoric into online discussions and
chat forums and social media channels.
Toning down the rhetoric?
One can only hope. Sadly, it probably will be more of the
same from both sides of politics.
All any of us can do is pray for a miracle.
Because what the end result will be in America will
affect us all world-wide.
