The prison in Gaza was built by Hamas. Surrounding Gaza is internationally recognised Israel into which Hamas continually sends people to kill Jews. To protect its people, Israel builds protections to keep out the Hamas killers. When this fails, Israel has to use force to eliminate Hamas to stop the killing.

Hamas is a murderous death cult similar to Isis that has killed more of its supposed citizens than Israel. The sooner they are wiped out the better.

Ilan Pappe has opinions that are much contested, and has been accused of fabrication to support his view point. I prefer listening to locals over expats.
