Watch paint dry, or listen to Trump? The paint wins hands down.

When it comes to that useless (for rational people, anyway) metric of number of views never discount those bot farms.

Never discount the delusional MAGA supporter in Georgia madly clicking away before the police come to take their mug shot.

It's sad to think that some believe that those other like-minded people are just the result of a program written by a teenager in Moscow or Beijing.

Dear Paul,

Australia has always had a strong tendency to move to
the centre politically. Probably the requirement to vote
and the active political discussion and involvement has a
lot to do with it.

Right-Wing groups are as marginal as are Left-Wing.
Difficult economic times stimulate both groups but they
never gain any real ground and they tend to collapse over
time. Their victories are marginal and short lived.

The communist party is disappearing into history and
Pauline Hanson will also disappear again soon.

As for the US? What's happening there is disturbing.
But not surprising.
It's a nation where wealth is
hoarded by an elite few, where there are few worker freedoms,
where unionism is suppressed and the average worker has
little chance of accumulating wealth.

A person like Trump
comes along and promises to "Make America Great Again," of
course many will believe him - especially the hill billies
and religious nutters. He can stand outside a church holding
a Bible upside down and it's "Praise The Lord" time.

Lets be grateful we live in this country. Most Aussies are
too laid back to be revolutionaries. If its raining -
they'd put it off for another day.
They may start an uprising tomorrow.
But if it's too hot -
we'll they'll just wait until
it's cooler. And so it goes.

Bless ém!

The upside down Bible story has long since been debunked as rubbish - even by left-wing groups like the New York times and PolitiFact. But for people like Foxy, its just too good to let mere facts get in the way.

Unfortunately for Foxy, even though she was 100% wrong on that point, it was the most factual part of her assertions. Still, I've got to feel a little sad for Foxy. She so wants to believe she is even-handed and fair to all groups, and, I'm sure, sincerely believes that she is indeed unbiased, yet, inevitably, she can't help reveal her true self - "especially the hill billies and religious nutters".

Obviously Foxy has absorbed, without any real thought, Hilary's 'Deplorables' memes, even though Hilary herself has tried to distance herself from it. But in Foxy-land, she is anti-Trump and anyone who doesn't agree must be 'nutters'.

In the end, those suffering Trump Derangement Syndrome really don't understand the Trump agenda and that of his supporters. Indeed, when you ask them what Trump policies they oppose, they are left scratching their head

mhaze,

You're accusing me of getting the upside down Bible
wrong - but you're defending a man who claims he
won the last election, and much, much more?

And you want to be taken seriously?

The facts remain that you're defending
a man who is indefensible. Transparency increases
credibility and accountability. Trump doesn't
believe in either transparency or being
accountable to anyone.

In Trump's case - you are confusing visibility with
credibility.

In a statement after Trump's photo shoot the Episcopal
Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry joined in the criticism
of Trump's visit:

"This evening the President of the United States stood in front
of St. John's Episcopal Church lifted up a Bible
and had pictures of himself taken. In so doing he used a church
building and the Holy Bible for partisan political purposes.
This was done in a time of deep hurt and pain in our country,
and his action did nothing to help or to heal us."

And lets not forget that people were hurt so that the
President could have a photo opportunity in front of the church
when the police moved in with tear gas and concussion grenades
and in full riot gear to drive off protesters.

OMG!

"You're accusing me of getting the upside down Bible wrong"

That's completely false, Foxy. I'm not ACCUSING you of getting it wrong, I'm POINTING OUT you got it wrong. Unsurprisingly, you now want to change the subject.

As per usual.

Did it ever occur to you to just admit you got it wrong and then try to do better next time? I guess not...

As per usual.

And why did you get it wrong? Because you weren't interested in the truth.

As per usual.
