On Tueday it was reported that Lachlan Murdoch, Fox Corporation’s chief executive, paid substantial legal fees to Crikey publisher, Private Media, after abandoning his defamation lawsuit against the outlet.

This follows the sacking of Tucker Carlson in April this year.

Also, Fox and the voting equipment company Dominion reached a U.S. $787.5m settlement ending a dispute over whether the network and its parent company knowingly broadcast false and outlandish allegations that Dominion was involved in a plot to steal the 2020 U.S. election.

Another election technology company, Smartmatic, filed a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox in February 2021, accusing the news network of falsely implicating the company in a bogus narrative about vote rigging in the 2020 election. In May a New York judge agreed the case could proceed.

Perhaps with mounting law suits and legal losses right-wing media outlets and as a result their influence is on the wain.

Some recent popularity of some Hilly-Billy songs seems to be the only recent right-wing gains.

Of course it is right-wing biased and anyone asserting otherwise is a clown. The fact there are organisations even further to the right in that struggling country does not negate that one iota.

However they did tend to keep some of their commentators on leashes to a degree.

Tucker Carlson is one example. He is now off on Musk's X and I was recently sent one of his interviews by a conspiracy partaker.

It was an interview with Steven Sund, the Capitol Hill police chief on Jan 6th.

Despite Carlson's obvious open attempts to focus on Pelosi, Sund was reasonably even handed, acknowledging it was both Mitch McConnell and Pelosi who were wary of the optics.

Where the interview gets egregious is when Carlson in editing the interview blanks out answers he doesn't like, that don't fit his narrative. An example is at the 22 minute mark.

So right-wing media is still going strong in one sense but a lot more people are aware of what they are being sold.

It is interesting where the Herald Sun has ended up after the State election down here in Victoria. They were so blatantly biased that they are regarded as the equivalent of Sky News now and pretty well dismissed with regard to imparting factual news.

What right wing media? The only right wing media in Australia is not known to most Australians; it is known only to genuine conservatives using it as their version of the Benedict Option, and as a refuge from Leftist lunacy. When there is little that can be done about lunacy because 80% of the population is stupid, it's nice to be able to retreat and keep your head down among like minded people.

As a conservative, I no longer expect change until enough real trauma is delivered upon the 80% drones by the likes of Albanese and his commos.
