Dear Canem Malum,
Lick my face and wag your tail. There's a good dog. As for the Voice? The proposal for the Voice was formerly endorsed by Indigenous leaders with the 2017 Uluru Statement From The Heart delivered at the First Nations Constitutional Convention. This has been explained many times in this discussion. As for Thomas Mayo? He and Kerry O'Brien have written a book explaining the Voice. It's available at all good book-shops and libraries. Foxy,
What's your opinion on the workings of the NIAA ? To me & many others it seems it should be doing already what the Voice is proposing ! At least their Website states so ! Posted by Indyvidual, Wednesday, 12 July 2023 9:59:01 AM

Dear Individual,
The Voice will be an independent body, unlike the NIAA, which is an internal government agency run by the executive government. Posted by Foxy, Wednesday, 12 July 2023 10:17:21 AM

The National Indigenous Australians Agency was established by an Executive Order signed by the Governor-General on 29 May 2019.
The Executive Order gives the NIAA a number of functions, including: to lead and coordinate Commonwealth policy development, program design and implementation and service delivery for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; to provide advice to the Prime Minister and the Minister for Indigenous Australians on whole-of-government priorities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; to lead and coordinate the development and implementation of Australia’s Closing the Gap targets in partnership with Indigenous Australians; and to lead Commonwealth activities to promote reconciliation. Foxy, So, if the Voice becomes a reality do you think the NIAA should then be abolished ? Posted by Indyvidual, Wednesday, 12 July 2023 12:05:48 PM

Dear Individual,
The following link may help towards understanding the differences between the NIAA and the Voice: http://rmit.edu.au/news/factlab-meta/indigenous-australians-do-not-already-have-a-voice-to-parliament Posted by Foxy, Wednesday, 12 July 2023 1:03:18 PM
