Steele is standing in the Echo chamber delighting in the sound of his own voice. He has not listened to the agenda behind the Voice. He trusts politicians, as we learn today that you cannot trust politicians.

This is the Voice we should be listening to, to be informed on the Voice.
http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2022/aug/26/dont-let-low-bar-politics-hold-back-indigenous-voice-advocate-to-say-in-lingiari-lecture Ignore the ABC and SBS voices, as they support yes voices. Posted by Josephus, Thursday, 29 June 2023 1:40:46 PM

Many people fear change. That's understandable.
However I suspect that should the Voice go through we shall all be wondering what all the fuss was about in a few years time. In any case we've been given a choice with this current government - as we were with same-sex marriage previously. It's now up to us which way we are going to vote. Welcome back Foxy, and wishing you a speedy recovery, the Forum has been bereft of decent comment in the forum of your wisdom for far too long. Steele pays too infrequent a visit with his decent comments. The old farts echo chamber has been working overtime, mostly attacking me, they've been in full cry, Nursy must have been withholding their chill pills, because they have all been very naughty boys. The Usual Suspect have mostly had the sand pit to themselves! If I read the words communists, kudos or bureaudroid (is that even a word), or read another boring post about how bad The Voice is, according to the forums redneck racists old bigots, what can I do, I say again welcome back.

Allowing our First Nations people to have input into
policies that affect only them won't change any one else's lives but it may help solve some of the problems of our Indigenous people. Also for those who do fear any changes - surely the fact that control shall remain with the government must be re-assuring? Posted by Foxy, Thursday, 29 June 2023 1:51:40 PM

I agree SR. If they don't get this via a referendum, then they can just legislate it anyway and end up with the same arrangement.
So, inquiring minds would ask, why are they going through the referendum process when the legislative process would achieve the same outcome. A shame we don't have too many inquiring mind, eh? Especially among the ABBAriginal fanboys. Clearly they want a Voice that has constitutional backing since they think it will allow them to argue that it has more power than a merely legislated advisory group. They are trying to sell the idea that it is just an advisory group (and have hoodwinked many) but obviously it is more than that, or at least they hope to convince future courts and parliaments of that.
