ttbn,
We'll very likely get the first splatters when the crap hits the fan but the generation after us will cop the full deluge & the outcome will be a loss for all before the racists realise they can't manage without these bad conservatives & get run out everywhere.

"Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus has conceded the voice to parliament and the executive will have the power to challenge government decisions in the High Court if it believes it has not been properly advised.

The concession cames as constitutional expert and voice proponent Frank Brennan prayed for a “Lazarus-style miracle” in his Sunday sermon, decrying the lack of process, transparency and public participation in the development of the proposed constitutional amendment.

Mr Dreyfus on Sunday said High Court challenges by the voice were a “possibility”

We have plenty of "two bob" lawyers on the Forum, who give their "learned" legal opinions, when they are not playing general in the Ukrainian War. Unfortunately they are nothing more than Dennis Denuto types, remember Dennis in court; "It’s Mabo. It’s justice, it’s law, It’s the vibe, yes it's the vibe". These "two bobbers" are giving constitutional law a bad name.

The Voice hopefully will pass, and deservedly become part of the Australian Constitution.

Hey SM,

Remember your forum famous 'Cry Baby' Porter legal opinion, I'll remind you; "Porter is in for $10 million plus in compensation, a grovelling apology from the ABC, and 100 ABC employees sacked to pay for it!" What a hoot was that one. Then there was the 'Beat Up' Bolt opinion; "An arrest is imminent, the cops have their man!", you couldn't see that Bolt staged managed the lot, and beat himself up. Whose is the Village Idiot when it comes to legal opinion? YOU!

Far from being clarified, the 'referendum question' is getting more confusing: all questions, no answers. More people who ARE legally qualified - even those who support the idea of a Voice - are saying, 'hang on a minute, this is not going to work out the way Albanese thinks it will'. Albanese has gone off half-cocked, and he is making a dog's breakfast of it.

Those of us who wonder why Dutton seems to be going along with the charade might have heard last night the suggestion that he is doing so only to prevent Albanese from having a new target to blame if - more likely when - the Voice blows up in his face. But, they are also saying that Dutton has only a couple of weeks come out against the nonsense. Who among us knows what anyone in the remote-from-reality political class will do these days?
