Yeah, i think your right wakings. also I think the fact that this summers big francise movies, spiderman 3, Pirates ofthe carribean 3 and the latest Harry potter film.... were either disapointing criticly, box office wise or just played out, unless there is a major following for the source material, I dont see compass doing extraordinarily well at all. And then not to mention the whole religion contraversary, how many will skip this movie? and how many will go to see it because of it? And there again, how much interest is there? I think not as much as they hope.

...so i see theres going to be about 800+ theaters showing sneak peaks of Compass today... and it seems the premieres are out of the way, strangly a whole week before the release date. Dont they usually have the premieres within days of the release date? I think its because kidman has to either finish up filming in Oz, or report for the already in production on the Reader, which is filming around her. Its kidmans tortured filming shoots and over delayed wrecks that now seem to interfere when her films are released, as in The Invasion, and now its interfereing with her PR for this compass film. I guess the sneak peaks are supposed to sustain the buzz in place of any pr by kidman for the upcoming week. What I think it will actually do is prematurely snuff the buzz and make it appear that it's come out a week earlier and already start to fade in interest with audiences, who are always looking to the next movie.

Yes, Morgan, the New York premiere for Compass was last night, and sure enough, no kidman. But no daniel craig, either. So that makes me re- think the reason she couldnt make it. Perhaps kidman and Craig both heard from New Line that the sneak peeks only sold out 50% of theaters, and they decided to bail on the movie, just as they did for the Invasion. If so, the compass has a long and tedious week long trek to it's release, which may be headed to only half the audience anyone expects , or New Line hopes.

Oh dear, I wonder what will happen, so much bad press for NK, ah well we do make our own beds now don't we, lets sit back and watch this unfold. This Christmas may sux this year as well for her.

Well just imagine wakings, if Golden Compass tanks that will be two major movies in one year. If you noticed another one of those meaningless top earning actresses lists came out, and kidman fell to #4, surprisingly only a few months after being declared #1... her rep after this might cause her to fall off the radar...if only!
