Importing a Tasmania’s worth of people every year : Comments

By Graham Young, published 11/9/2025

Pause the intake until housing, infrastructure and services catch up. That’s not xenophobia - it’s common sense.

Susan Ley is no more electable than Peter Dutton.
She'd be out of her depths running a primary school tuckshop.
LNP is a clownshow placing the unelectable in leadership positions.
Skippy the Bush Kangaroo would have a better chance of being elected.
It says more about party in-fighting than dedication to their supporters, or the nation.

The Liberals' suicide should give more say to One Nation & other conservative parties & if they join they could just have the impact that's needed to get the Nation onto a better track.

Asking the relevant question is essential.

Try this question:
How do we as the suffering individuals of an erratic Nation under a Dictatorship, survive outside of the ruling Dictator class.

Answer:
Blood in the streets.

Not something the timid citizens wish to acknowledge, but an historic fact pointing to this answer.

Yes, it is sheer stupidity to wilfully keep bringing in more people.

But it is also sheer evil to forcibly stop people from coming on their own initiative.

The middle ground is to severe the link between physical migration and acceptance into society, so that while anyone should be allowed to enter (subject to posing no criminal, health and/or terrorism threat), they will not automatically receive the social protections and privileges which today we take for granted.

A competent administration would have long ago done an investigation into immigration & removed those facilitating this out of control intake.
It's not a Labor or Liberal thing, it's a Public service union & bureaucracy matter. How soon can we expect the unions to go through this with a fine-toothed comb ?
Also, those in charge of immigration including the minister need to be chased up by a media outfit with some integrity !

Individual.

A very good point, and one I’ve never seen discussed personally.

One would think Unions taking a particular interest in the damaging effects of rampant immigration on the lowly worker, would be prioritised even above pay rises.

More evidence the traditional workers Unions are a thing of the bygone past; that’s because ( I would speculate), Unionism predominates now among the Government bureaucrats, and has become a lame duck for workers in private enterprise. All power has moved to the top, shame on them!
