By Gwynn MacCarrick, published 11/8/2023

The Bill is in line with efforts around the world, to re-negotiate the social license of the fossil fuel industry to operate and phase out the approval of new projects.

Looking ahead, and over the heads of the climate dumbclucks, there are plans to reopen, after 28 years closure, the South Crofty coal mine in Cornwall. 2026 is the target date,

Once again, other countries who went mad on the climate-change non-problem well before Australia did, are making it clear that net zero is a monumental job and economy destroying ballsup.

Our half-witted political class will continue to blunder on, too stupid to get the obvious message.

Dear Paul1405...

Do you think people who are helping Communist China to colonise Australia, should be locked up in a labour camp, deported or executed for treason?

You do realise that EVERYTHING you have promoted is economic sabotage, don't you?

Dear imacentristmoderate,

"The horrendous fires in Hawaii have the same cause as Australia's horrendous bush fires, namely green-left policy which does not allow grazing animals to eat grass or a burn off in winter before the amount of fire fuel gets too high."

What an absolutely pig ignorant thing to claim.

Here is a quote from someone with at least a modicum of knowledge of the area.

"The spread of highly flammable, nonnative grasses — left after property owners abandoned sugar cane or pineapple farms and ranches — has long been a concern. Nonnative grasses were brought to Hawaii to feed cattle when people of European ancestry arrived on the islands. But as farms and ranches shut down in recent decades because they were no longer as profitable, the flammable brush has been spreading throughout Hawaii, raising the risk of catastrophic wildfire."

Plimer, is a geologist and not a climate scientist. 97% of who agree with that the climate is warming due to human activities!

Yes, when the sun causes natural variations, when it waxes (heats up) so does the planet! When it wanes (cools down) so does the planet! And we have been in waning phase since the mid-seventies (NASA).

And during this period of "natural cooling", we have witnessed record temperatures and heat waves, record droughts and fire storms, the worst in living memory. Ask any farmer!

You don't have to be brain dead to have missed this irrefutable, plain as the nose on your face, evidence, but it has to help!

Addressing climate change does not have tank the economy but continuing to burn prohibitively expensive coal/gas and even more expensive battery backed renewables, to power the nation, will!

And surging power prices, with no relief in sight, have already sent a voiceless many to the wall and bankruptcy. As the recalcitrant antinuclear labor government sits on its hands or buries the head somewhere warm and comfortable!

Forest Gump says, and I quote, stupid is that stupid does and opening a new coal mine is patently stupid. But hey, that's what happens when conservative governments get into power, they have form in this area!

imacentristmoderate,

If you try to argue with stupid people, you will get only stupid abuse back. It can be a bit of fun for a while, but it soon palls.

You will find that there are three only Leftists lunatics on OLO, who are very unpleasant characters who like to have last say.

I have found that it's best to stick with people like myself, or similar, read a lot of authors cancelled by the Marxist media, watch ADH TV, and generally, do a 'Benedict' on society, and enjoy the healing effect contact with agreeable people does have; and leave the last say to the disagreeable few who are never going to be any different or more enlightened than they are now.

Dear SteeleRedux, thank you for proving my point. The farms were abandoned after the green/left policies bankrupted them, but of course you already knew that didn't you?

Dear Alan B., There have been NO high temperature records broken & no record droughts, just ask a farmer.

Just liars fiddling with the figures for the Chinese Communist Party of Australia. What do you think life will be like here after Communist China colonizes Australia? The collaborators are the first targets to be rounded up & shot. Try reading a history book not written by a leftist humanities academic? You might learn something.

Leftism is as leftism does.

Hello ttbn, you're right, but every now & then i like to make a leftist troll cry. Have you tried Richardson Post, 3 trolls there too but they are less active?
