Dear Hasbeen,
How's it going old cock? Good? You say: "Obviously Pocock got a few too many hard hits to the head on the rugby field." And obviously he had a bit of sense knocked into him, something you are sorely lacking. Are you really going to your grave steadfastly denying a warming planet when the evidence is so stark? Yes probably. Bugger the younger generation, you have had a good time of it. No skin off your nose. Posted by SteeleRedux, Friday, 11 August 2023 7:08:24 PM

"Bugger the younger generation"
Our governments already buggered them good and proper. In 30 years wages have gone up maybe 3 times in value Whilst house prices have gone up 7 or 8 times in value. In Brisbane today I saw an article about the Brisbane city council want to buy up houses to demolish and turn into parks. With 400,000 people coming to Australia a year I guess the kids can always get a cheap tent from BCF to erect in said new park. I have no idea what's going in in these so called leaders heads. Australia has over 100,000 homeless but what really matters is knocking down houses and building new parks. [Rolls eyes] - Like Australia doesn't have enough open spaces? Brisbane City Council apologises after it sent 'alarming' letter warning 800 residents their homes could be acquired for new parks http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12395495/Brisbane-City-Council-apologises-sent-alarming-letter-warning-800-residents-homes-acquired-new-parks.html I spoke to some friends today, they live about 20 minutes from the city, and they said their rent was going up $300 a week. The government is not improving our country, it's their policies which are destroying it for all the kids and grandkids, i.e next generations of Australian citizens. The climate may be changing, but if you let the greenies have their way no-ones going to be able to afford air conditioning anyway. I guess there will be a lot more old people making the dreaded ambulance/hospital trip each summer. I suppose that will get them out of their houses, downsize to the morgue, which is probably what policy makers want anyway. Posted by Armchair Critic, Friday, 11 August 2023 8:36:51 PM

Hi there Hassy,
Did you not say that Global Warming was a myth, and you had conclusive proof of that fact, from the temperature readings the old mate up the track had been taking for the past 60 years. Has he still got that thermometer in his chook shed? Is he still with us? If I'm wrong maybe you can tell that story again. Posted by Paul1405, Saturday, 12 August 2023 6:16:48 AM

Australia should " re-negotiate the social license of the fossil fuel industry to operate" so that we can stop forest fires in Hawaii?
Struth, have we reach peak stupid in the global warming/climate change/climate crisis/the-sky-is-falling issue yet? Sadly no. Still, it seems only fair that we should reduce our use of fossil fuels given that major users like China and India are similarly spurning the dreaded fossil fuels in their economy... http://edition.cnn.com/2023/02/27/energy/china-new-coal-plants-climate-report-intl-hnk/index.html Still, perhaps there is an upside... "The proposal requires the federal government to consider the effect on the health and welfare of young people and future generations when authorizing or approving projects that could cause a significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions." I wonder is adding 400,000 new sets of lungs to the economy each year would "cause a significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions."? Posted by mhaze, Saturday, 12 August 2023 8:56:17 AM
