Can India remain Democracy’s poster child? : Comments

By Teck Lim, published 16/5/2023

India’s democracy is not only deeply flawed, it has regressed into what the V-Dem Institute calls 'one of the worst autocratisers in the last 10 years'.

If the Village Trumpster is to be believed then China will have no problem with a "retiree explosion", as they will either starve to death or be executed.

Both India and Chine have a population of 1.4 billion people. Very similar countries. Not good enough for the Village Trumpster, maybe he should compare China to Luxembourg, he'd get a better result his way.

"Based on income band classification, China's middle class has been among the fastest growing in the world, swelling from 39.1 million people (3.1 percent of the population) in 2000 to roughly 707 million (50.8 percent of the population) in 2018."

"The report released by PRICE added that the share of middle class in the total Indian population rose from 14 per cent in 2004-05 to 31 per cent in 2021-22, about 420 million."

The claim that its only CCP members who benefit from the Chinese economy is another lie, put out by the likes of the Village Trumpster, the CCP has about 96 million members. Draw your own conclusions.

The average Chinese worker receives an income of over $US16,000 annually, the average Indian worker less than $US7,000.

On World Bank figures the Chinese economy is valued at over $17 trillion while India's is at around $2 trillion USA $23 trillion Australia $1.5 trillion annually. It is projected the Chinese economy will surpass the US economy by 2030.

The village idiot concedes that China has no fair judiciary, is committing genocide against ethnic minorities, executes 1000s of its citizens and is essentially a police state that killed 50 million of its own people in the 70s, yet still thinks communism is great.

The world bank's data is as follows:

Country Most Recent Year Most Recent Value
(Millions)
USA 2021 23,315,080.56
China 2021 17,734,062.65
Japan 2021 4,940,877.78
Germany 2021 4,259,934.91
India 2021 3,176,295.07

So the village idiot got it wrong again.

The latest prediction by the World Bank is that China won't overtake the US until 2035. Given its economic problems, this is likely to be pushed further out.

The true comparison with China i.e. Taiwan is doing fantastically better than China and didn't even have to massacre its citizens.

Oh, don't beat me master, I got it wrong I should have said $3 trillion not 2 for India, my typo, but then again I could have rounded up China to $18 trillion not 17. Anyway you look at it China's economy is at least 6 times bigger than India's. But then again the Village Trumpster is a financial genius who according to him runs a 100 million dollar business in New Zealand, that's when he's not cashing his dole cheque that is, ha, ha, ho, ho.

BTW; I'd didn't mention Japan or Germany who have small economies compared to China. Village Trunpster I am wiping the floor with you on this India/China comparison as Effy would say; "how embarrassment" it must be for YOU. Read the facts, incomes, economic value, the number of middle class people, etc etc. All you can do is quote right wing hogwash about the Chinese. If all you are saying is true, why doesn't Australia take the moral high ground and ban all trade with China? After all we've never committed genocide against anyone, well, not recently.

The Village Trumpster can't even get Taiwan right; "(Taiwan) didn't even have to massacre its citizens." Taiwan occupied and run by the Nationalist under Chiang Kai-shek (1949-1975) murdered millions of Chinese firstly as Japanese collaborators during WWII and then post war as they retreated before the advancing Chinese Communists under Mao. Get it right son! Taiwan was run by a repressive regime well into the 1980's. with the first democratic presidential election held in 1996.

The Village Trumpster admits the Chinese Nationalist under Chiang Kai-shek who ruled Taiwan for 36 years, murdered other Chinese. Chiang and his supporters fled to the island of Formosa, a part of China, in 1949 where Chiang set up an undemocratic regime under his control. In Taiwan he may not have murdered too many dissidents (locals) as the vast majority now on the island were his supports. Between 1928 and 1949 Chiang is credited with murdering 10 million people.

BTW; Village Trumpster I am in favour of true independence through self determination for the Taiwanese people, unlike YOU who favours a war mongering American puppet regime that can continue hostilities and ultimately a proxy war with mainland China. In a similar way America has used Ukraine to wage war with Russia.

BBTW; with the American economy heading for recession or depression, China might become the worlds leading economic power well before 2030.
