Can India remain Democracy’s poster child? : Comments

By Teck Lim, published 16/5/2023

India’s democracy is not only deeply flawed, it has regressed into what the V-Dem Institute calls 'one of the worst autocratisers in the last 10 years'.

The village idiot is lying again, no one claimed that India was a beacon of economic goodies under Capitalism he is just making this up as usual.

"The National Social Assistance Programme of India is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the Government of India that provides solidarity financial assistance to people who are unable to work, widows/widowers and persons with disabilities in the form of social pensions"

"Unemployment refers to the share of the labour force that is without work but available for and seeking employment. India's unemployment rate for 2021 was 5.98%, a 2.02% decline from 2020."

In China "Unemployment among those ages 16 to 24 rose to 19.6% in March, up from 18.1% in both January and February and inching toward the 19.9% of last July, the highest level since records began in 2018. Youth unemployment was 16% in March 2022" "The quarterly unemployment rate in China stood at 5.5 per cent in the first quarter of 2023."

A direct comparison is with Taiwan with similar people but no communist government with far better results.

Unlike some fool who fails to give a reference for his so called figures, here are mine from 'TRADEING ECONOMICS' a reputable American trade organisation;

UNEMPLYMENT

China 5.2 previous 5.3 Apr/23
India 7.8 previous 7.5 Mar/23
Australia 3.7 previous 3.5 Apr/23

Of course the demented Trumpster will make all sorts of claims without facts.

As the old man said to me 50 years ago; "Son, I'd rather be the average Chinaman, than the average Indian." True then, still true today.

A new direct comparison is between the USA and Haiti, cause that's where the American economy is heading. The Trumpster wont admit it of course, but his man Trump "deregulated" the American economy so badly that it's now heading towards third world status, thanks to all those greedy shonks and shysters on Wall Street!

Unemployment among US octogenarians is now over 99%, except in Washington where they have one old fool still employed! Another soon to be octo wants that silly old fools job, that of course is when he's not hanging out in department stores change rooms with women he claims not to know!

SM, you didn't comment on the second part of my post, "Ha! Sleepy Old Joe can't leave America.......".... Sleepy Old Joe would have rang Albo and told him why he wasn't coming, but he didn't have a dime for the pay phone!

Once again the village idiot has earned his title, by not reading what I quoted he made himself look like a twit.

This idiot has forgotten that he claimed that China's unemployment was zero and can't even spell unemployment. he also seems to have forgotten how to use Google to trace quotes.

That China has no regard for human rights and happily jails and executes people for any criticism, India is looking far more attractive.

China's economy is in serious trouble and given that India's growth rate is nearly double that of China, India could reasonably overtake China in a few decades.

What the Trumpster doesn't realise is, with a population growth of almost 12%, compared to China's near 4% over the past decade, India requires economic growth three times that of China's just to keep up, its not achieving that. Where as China achieved spectacular economic growth rates during the 1990's and 2000's, India was a basket case. Unfortunately for the average Indian there is no economic prosperity as there is in China for the majority.

The Trumpster, still has nothing to say about the desperate state Sleepy Old Joe is in, having to stay put as the American economy crashes and burns around him.

What the village idiot forgets is that India's population growth has slowed to 0.8% p.a. so his calculations are bollocks.

In the 70s Mao's cultural revolution killed 50 million Chinese through starvation, making India look like a paradise.

China is a highly oppressive police state and the only wealthy people are those in the Party. The judicial system is a joke used to rubber-stamp the party's decisions. About 2000 people are executed a year.

As for the demographics, China's one-child policy has seen the proportion of youth shrinking to the point where the number of working-age adults is going to start to implode just as the number of retirees explodes.

With China's huge debt, the future looks extremely challenging.
