The Wieambilla killings: the sense behind senseless murder : Comments

The quest to not understand has been aided by the conspiracy label attached to the three individuals.

The insane can and do plan their macabre mission with detailed military precision. And this was the case in Wieambilla. Even so a senseless killing is just that. As a bloke who is pro-gun but not anti-vaccine, I find some of the assumptions by this anti-American author offensive. A gun in most law-abiding hands, be it bolt action or semiautomatic is just a tool to get some tasks done, i.e., the disposal/removal of vermin and feral species, pigs, goats, horses and wild dogs. And for sport in target ranges. Outlaw guns and only outlaws will have guns.

That said the issue of a man bring loaded weapons across a state border should have resulted in charges and the firearms confiscated. But that would not prevent criminals getting guns. We know that some were homemade (3D printed) and used with lethal consequences.

My thoughts unlike the vexatious Author are with the fine young police offers who were serving the community. Their brave young lives snuffed out by the whim and caprice of madmen/woman. A proscribed register may have prevented this tragedy. Even tougher gun laws would not have. It's not the gun that kills but the finger on the trigger.

We need guns in proficient law-abiding hands as baiting takes way more than the targeted problematic species. Guns on the other hand take only the targets, which in this sad and horrific case cost six people their lives.

I won't say anything about, shot to hell, road signs save, guns and alcohol/mind altering drugs do not mix! And perhaps the legal age for gun ownership should be 25.

Making sense from these senseless killings demonstrates a distinct lack of normal human empathy.

Uh Oh …The counter-view Is now under the microscope.

And why should it be problematic the local realtor is promoted as the more righteous in society generally, to cleanse the tarnished town of the unwashed and unwanted; now right there is a role for which they are well suited and highly experienced.

The exacerbation of the confusion between the good the bad and the plain ugly worsens!

Mmmm.

No mention of the very strict religious upbringing nor the fact they referred to the police as demons and devils.

The predisposition of fundamentalist Christians to conspiracy theories needs to be both acknowledged and acted upon.

It is not the whole picture by any means but it is an important part.

That terrible Americanism, 'gotten' is the standout in this pointless piece.

The story of two young police officers killed in the line of duty has already passed the seven day cycle, with all its faux emoting from usual types who had no connection to them.

This is 'modern Australian' that Big Gob Lefties are telling everyone to adapt to. More to come.

Now that the commercial media has extracted all the commercial juice from this one, it's dropped in favour of the latest sporting achievements of some sports icon (D.W.). Facing projectiles coming at you at 90 miles an hour may take some courage, but when they are exceeding the speed of sound how much more courage is required.

These police persons put it on the line every day. It could be a domestic where a woman's life is in peril or as we saw, some fanatical, deeply demented, religious nut cases, doing the work of the devil!

It made no sense, never did, never will! My heart and my sympathy goes to the families and friends left behind and mourning the senseless loss of life of two very young police persons just working for us each and every day.

The Trains can never be called Terrorists.

1. Otherwise that would call into question ASIO's downgrading the Terrorism Level from "Probable" to "Possible" an unfortunate 16 days before the clear politically motivated violence of the trains killing police at Wieambilla. http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2022/nov/28/australias-terrorism-threat-level-changes-to-possible-after-eight-years-as-probable

AND

2. The Trains weren't Muslims. So Terrorism is out of the question.

ASIO quietly restoring the Terrorism Level from "Possible" to "Probable" is likely over the next few weeks during the "journalists asleep - Silly Season".
