By Scott Prasser, published 30/11/2021

The proposed Senate inquiry was questionable because it indicated a lack of trust by the Coalition parties in the ABC’s process.

The ABC is demonstrably the least biased news organisation we have in this country by a long mile.

It certainly doesn't need fixing but rather to continue to engage in reviewing its operations which it does already.

The only reason anyone in government would carve it up would be to direct funding to the sections they approved of and starve those they don't, something which would dramatically diminish its independence.

The forces railed against the ABC are considerable and while some thing it is mainly politically based there is a pernicious foreign owned company in particular who for purely commercial reasons, and the further gaining of power, would like to see it eradicated or privatised.

The usual monkeys at their keyboards on this forum and others fail to recognise that agenda and rather regurgitate the talking points about bias.

Consent for the tearing down of our national broadcaster has been manufactured for years and shows no sign of abating. It will need to be continually resisted.

Thanks SR. The first line of your post provided the huge belly laugh I really needed this morning.

A new level of BS, even for you.

I listen to the ABC, NPR and New York Public Radio in the USA, and the BBC, all on google home.

They all sound similar to me, yet US public radio does not rely on public funding.

The best debating shows between different political views are on US public radio

Cyclone,
no Ads as such yes but what about the insane repetition of ABC promos ? They're no less aggravating than ads on commercial TV.
What about their pro Left etc promotions ?
No mate, the ABC is not un-biased on the contrary !
