By Binoy Kampmark, published 15/4/2019

The pursuit of Assange was 'because he has exposed wrongdoing by US administrations and their military forces.'

There is no excuse for Assange, and blaming anyone else for his plight, including the equally disliked Ecuadorian president, is really pathetic. Assange is a very bad man: a threat to Western security.

The above comments by ttbn are obviously those of a self styled authority whose views of issues in the world are those peddled by the mainstream media on behalf of interests of those who control them. Those who keep an eye on alternative news sources - largely small ones now readily accessible on the Internet often develop considerably different viewpoints. Many realise that Assange with Wikileaks have done an excellent job exposing dirty dealings by governments that they would like kept hidden. Worth noting that the many of the original sources are from sites based in the US or written by journalists originally from the US but on sites hosted in other countries

Ttbn, “a threat to western society” you obviously have no clue.

Firstly, I don’t like Assange, he is arrogant and then some, however:-

He is a journalist, his news outlet Wikileaks has won numerous awards “including the Walkley Award for Most Outstanding Contribution to Journalism (2011), the Martha Gellhorn Prize for Journalism (2011), the International Piero Passetti Journalism Prize of the National Union of Italian Journalists (2011), the Jose Couso Press Freedom Award (2011), the Brazillian Press Association Human Rights Award (2013), and the Kazakstan Union of Journalists Top Prize (2014).”

Secondly, “The facts are that prosecuting Julian Assange under the Espionage Act for exposing US war crimes, as the Trump administration is attempting to do, would strike a devastating blow to press freedoms around the world. This is because there are no legal distinctions in place separating an outlet like WikiLeaks from outlets like the New York Times, the Washington Post, or the Guardian, meaning that a precedent would be set allowing for the prosecution of those outlets on the same grounds, who also publish anonymous government leaks. Which is why the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Guardian have all warned sternly this precedent does not come under, which has also been recognized by the Obama administration.”

Additionally, Assange is not a US citizen and therefore cannot be tried for any breach of US law, the entire story is a fabrication based on lies.

Assange exposed not only US wrong doing but a number of other Countries as well.

The Us & other Countries are more embarrassed buy what has been exposed. There is no openness by Governments & they seal Documents for 30 years of forever. They figure the people involved will be dead & beyond prosecution by then.

What gets Sealed. Backroom Dirty Deals mostly. Even our own Governments, Federal, State & Local have provision to hide "Backroom Dirty Deals" done by our Politicians in collusion with one another. All Governments deny they have Dirty Deals, but sometimes it's so plainly obvious, it's ridiculous, yet they still deny it.

What Assange has done, or I should say, what people have done is give him the material. All Assange did was put it out there for all to see. He exposed the crap is being fed to us by our Governments of all persuasions.

His Greatness Julian Assange's odd band of remaining supporters are those who deny His Greatness's right to FAECAL Expression.

This is a gross violation of Assange the Great's artistic Freedom!

Note: "Mucky-pedia: Julian Assange smeared feces on walls of Ecuador"

in The Daily Mail's, 12 August 2019 expose:

mox,

You couldn't be more wrong. I generally ignore the MSM.

galen,

I “have no clue” about what, exactly? I can't see anything in your plaudits for the scoundrel that would make me change my opinion.
