Shredding asylum: the arrest of Julian Assange : Comments

By Binoy Kampmark, published 15/4/2019

The pursuit of Assange was 'because he has exposed wrongdoing by US administrations and their military forces.'

There might be multiple offenses for which the US is charging him.
There are the files downloaded by Manning and then there are the emails
of Hilary Clinton on the Democratic National Party's computer server.
Do I see the hand of the Clinton foundation in this ?
From what I have read on one site it might be the latter case that is
of more interest to the US "Dark State".
I notice that Assange has stated that he did not get the emails from Russia.
Hmmm just mentioning Russia causes more interest than war crimes.

Also there's Wikileaks releasing the CIA Vault 7 hacking tools;
And the manner in which he received the Podesda emails which cost Hillary the election.

Many of you forget that Assanges only crime was exposing warcrimes and wrongdoing by a foreign government.
No-one in the US Government has ever gotten in trouble for the war crimes, and America continues to do these things to this day.

Take Syria: Armed, Trained, Funded terrorists

Take Venezuela:

They speak of humanitarian aid;
But are the sanctions and economic war waged in order to try to bring the country to its knees to enact a regime change not a form of collective punishment on an entire nation of people?
And do you think the President and his government going to go without steak tonight?
Maybe they'll have eggs on toast?

While the nation starves?
Didn't they eat the Zoo animals last year?
How many kids and elderly will die?
- Have died -
How many killed for this particular attempted regime change?
Do you not think the US is considering / planning a military invasion?
(They are)

The US does this OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER again...
Country after country
Innocent people be damned.
It doesn't seem to EVER end.
Endless Killing.

And no-one faces repurcussions for the things Assange exposed.
- And you all think he's the problem -

A lot of you people need a BIG reality check

Hi Armchair

It is true dumping some streams of documents and the odd Video may be valid.

But Wikileaks indiscriminately dumping 20 to 30 x 100,000s of documents?

Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_material_published_by_WikiLeaks

with the 100,000s year by year, particularly from 2009.

In fact Wikileaks' DUMPS may total "10 million documents"

see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WikiLeaks

"WikiLeaks...publishes secret information, news leaks,[5] and classified media provided by anonymous sources.[6] Its website, initiated in 2006 in Iceland by the organisation Sunshine Press,[7] claims a database of 10 million documents in 10 years since its launch."
______________________________

All that DUMPING of the documents of Western democracies.

When did Wikileaks dare to dump 100,000s of CHINESE or RUSSIAN documents?

As an ordinary citizen, I see Assange as a traitor.
He betrayed his own people and country on the battlefield.

Fine! if he has no loyalty to his own people, then his own people need have no loyalty
to him.
He is stateless because he deserves to be.
Loyalty goes both ways.

These posters that say he revealed terrible war crimes, need to reveal those exposed war crimes.
A group of men were shot standing around a truck. Given that the enemy
was continually turning trucks into bombs maybe the strike was understandable.
But where are these other war crimes?? None to speak of. The wikilinks documents
were conspicuous by the absence of any real bad exposures.
If there had been any, there would have been headlines everywhere.
So America was to a large extent exonerated by all those documents that revealed little against America.

Certainly not the burning of people alive in cages. Taking people as sex slaves.
There were very few cases of rape by US forces.
No live beheadings. No killing of all the boys and men in villages by lining them up and shooting them.
Wikileaks found no war crimes like this against America.

Chereful, the vehicle looked like a minbus van.
I did not see any weapons in their hands.
Assange is not stateless.

The question still is, How does the US apply its laws in foreign countries ?
