Inequality : Comments

By David Leyonhjelm, published 10/1/2019

Echoing the rhetoric of Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn, Bill Shorten recently claimed in a speech that rising inequality was the single biggest threat to Australia's social cohesion and the economy.

Thank you for n ailing an other lie David.
It is a very old tactic used by quacks for centuries. Discover a non- existent disease and sell a cure for it.
It is similar to the non- refunding of excess franking credits.
If there is too much tax benefit received by self funded retirees why not just tax all pensions but give a rebate ( used to be 15% but 30% would be more reasonable) for pensions from complying Super Funds ?

Only one reason militates against this simple answer. It does not fund the unions.

Shorten expects people to move into union dominated funds as small private Funds will lose franking credits and bank operated funds have been shown by the Royal Commission to stink.

That means union dominated funds will get huge clout from expected capital inflow, enabling those funds to force union delegates onto company boards and directors' fees into the union movement to fund the Labor Party.

Let us hope the electorate has the intelligence to see through such duplicity.

Dear Alan,

«ensuring an equal start that just doesn't leave our best and brightest, left to clean toilets and drive cabs etc.»

What is wrong with cleaning toilets and driving cabs?

Rather, it is our best and brightest who shun unethical jobs, unwholesome technology and corrupt universities and therefore resort to cleaning toilets in order to pay their bills.

I have much more respect for toilet cleaners and cab drivers than for politicians, scientists, academics, managers and rich entrepreneurs. THEY ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING GOOD. Would you rather find your public toilet dirty and clogged with s*^t? Or would you like to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere with your car broken down and nobody to take you home?

«Equality has nothing whatsoever to do with how much hair you or I retain»

If you believe in equality, then those with hair should be paid more because they need to pay their barber/hairdresser's bills. On the other hand, those without need more sunscreen, well perhaps a hat is cheaper and more enduring.

In truth we ARE all equal - we are in fact one, we are God and the whole wealth of the universe is ours. It is only the human bodies with which we identify that are not equal, nor can they be and had they been equal, then we could not have experienced whatever we came down into the world to experience as presumably-separate human beings.

Alan B Quote "David: You don't normally come across as El Stupido."

Addressing anything to David Leyonhjelm is a waste of time.

I posted the following on Thursday, 13 December 2018 6:27:36 PM

It appears David Leyonhjelm is not very good at engaging the electorate or voters, I have looked at a number of articles he has posted here then went to the comments I could not find one he had replied too.

He has at a guess around 80 articles

http://www.onlineopinion.com.au/author.asp?id=6583

He or whoever is posting these articles in his name just don't reply.
His articles have now been relegated to the waste of time category.

But increasing economic inequality? That's just not true.
David Layojhelm,
I'm not so sure when I look at the situation with Pension asset testing in comparison to the generosity of Centrelink with those who literally pi$$ed their life against the wall & never worked & never paid income tax.
I'd say that is gross iequality at your doorstep. Discuss it with your Canberra mates & let us know what they think about it.

individual - Watch the number of freeloaders skyrocket if Labor gives them $75 extra.

They are also talking about cutting back the number of jobs they have to apply for from 20 to not sure yet, they have not said.
