The Easter answer to our messiah complex : Comments

By Adam Ch'ng, published 2/4/2015

In just seven short years, we have swapped and dropped our Prime Ministers no less than four times. If Tony Abbott had been dumped by his party earlier this year, we would have outstripped even Italy’s prime ministerial turnover rate.

plantagenet, I think there are nails there, just a distinct lack of blood etc https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tRJlo2WRDbw.

Maybe they slipped just a litle on the accuracy in that scene.

Howdy R0bert

Nah! Those Crusifixees got little platforms and ropes round their arms - THE WIMPS.

I mean how can ya be rebirthed on the thrid day if ya haven't been properly crucixfied?

Must be something in the Bible about boutique Crucifixions!

So where has Christ's suffering, poverty and his murder under the Romans gone? A thriving worldwide business run by Romans - thanks tah - 50 seconds in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFTL1YZtYL4 .

Merry Easter - minus High Churches (and Happy Clappies) :)

"Australians today are in desperate search for a messiah."

We are all in desperate search for salvation.

Some seek it in food, sex, alcohol, sports, thrill, entertainment, whatever, then we realise it's not it, but keep going round and round...

But government? of all things? One may believe that Australians are not very bright and one may feel bitter about them not knowing God, but that's truly an extreme and unwarranted assault on their intelligence. It would be wiser to look for the Messiah even among your dog's leeches!

The author claims that "The Easter message tells us that government can be good [but it can never be god]": No. If anything, the Easter message tells us that government is bad, that it is the source of most troubles - wasn't it the government of the day which crucified Jesus, the best among men?

I would like to convey my condolences on this day to my Christian friends in this forum: while Jesus himself won over death, not so his disciples and it is heart-breaking when your master-teacher passes away, when you realise that s/he will no longer answer and guide you in the body with divine and unconditional love when you are lost and in need and that for all the wisdom s/he could still impart, now s/he will remain silent. I know how it feels and I share this pain with you.

Dear Sir Rhrosty von Messiah

While celebrating Jesus' resserection with gobs of chocolate, it is my profound belief that Cardinal Pell will become the new Pope in which case one should not expect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqreRufrkxM
