The idea of a Hindu family going to Palestine where Jews were busy rebuilding the Jewish national Home in their ancient biblical and historic homeland leads me to speculate your family was like the hundreds of thousands of Arabs who flocked there - attracted by the Jews breathing life again into a neglected backwater of the Ottoman Empire ruled by the Turks for 400 years until it was conquered by the British and French - just 0.01% of the Ottoman Empire conquered by those victorious allies.

They must have had some close shaves - especially in 1948 when six Arab armies invaded Palestine in breach of international law with the intention of wiping out all the Jews living there. Your relations sure would have been in trouble had the Jews not survived that onslaught.

At least it is nice to know they are happy living in Israel as Israeli citizens in a minority community among an overwhelming majority of Jews.

Maybe they had something to do with the Baha'is - whose world headquarters are in Israel where freedom of religion and worship is allowed to all.

Compare that to Saudi Arabia.

Nice to know that you are not calling for all Jews to vacate the West Bank. Problem is the PLO and Abbas won't agree to allow any of them to stay there as citizens of a new Palestinian State ( or even agree to their living there as citizens of Israel unless the PLO is given some Israeli land as compensation.)

I stated my views here at least 100 times, but I don't mind stating them for the 101st:

Israel should move back to its 1967 borders.

The Arabs would not be impressed by that - but they will still be impressed with Israel's military might, which is all that matters, so they need not be consulted.
Then a big wall should be constructed over Israel's border to help preventing terror.

Currently Israel's deterrence is weak because the Arabs know that 1) it is not united from within; and 2) the world would oppose Israel and limit its military/retaliatory capacity. However, once the occupation is over, both shall change and no Arab will dare to raise his finger against Israel.

As for my "facetious reply", this for a fact IS the reason why MOST Israelis are there. Birth is the number 1 reason, followed by being brought in as children by one's parents, then there are those who came for economic reasons; or to join a family-member already in Israel; or because they had no better place to go. The remaining ones who live in Israel for Jewish-ideological reasons are therefore quite a minority!

I repeat - Ordinary Israelis are not there for Judaism, but are normal people who try to have a life and make the most out of it.

Given that the foundation of Judaism, the Torah, was proven false time and again, unless you wish to argue for its validity, isn't it time for those defrauded to cut their losses and move on, making the best of their resources and the country they built, even if it was accidental?

Every region in the world has problems: we have fires, others have earthquakes, tsunamis, bitter-cold, volcanoes, pollution, malaria, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, etc. So Israel has Arabs all around. It's not easy, it might have been a mistake, but it's no worse than what the rest of us have to put up with.
