Israel has adopted a drip-feed approach to providing the Palestinians with water instead of letting them control their own natural resource. Israel imposed a scandalously uneven, humiliating and infuriating division of the water resources of the West Bank.

The Palestinians were allotted 118 million cubic meters (mcm) per year from three aquifers via drilling, agricultural wells, springs and precipitation. Pay attention, Rino Tzror: the same deal allotted Israel 483 mcm annually from the same resources (and it has also exceeded this limit in some years).

In other words, some 20 percent goes to the Palestinians living in the West Bank, and about 80 percent goes to Israelis – on both sides of the Green Line – who also enjoy resources from the rest of the country. Continue reading

Threatening and Torturing Palestinian Patients to Become Spies For Israel

What these patients go through is a kind of torture. The danger is that some of them avoid seeking medical treatment because they are afraid. They are worried about being arrested, or the suspicion among other Palestinians that they may have collaborated if they receive a permit.

These permits from Israel become a tool for blackmail. It is a serious violation of international law. Because Israel still occupies Gaza, the welfare of these patients is fully its responsibility. Not so fast, conversion takes time and the 30th of February has not yet arrived.

You do have a point, though: a significant portion of Palestinians are in fact Jews who converted to Islam during the 8th-11th centuries because of the tax and other restrictions on non-Muslims. This includes many Jews who first became Christians in the early centuries, then turned Muslim. In contrast with other Jews who left Israel for economic reasons (and not expelled by the Romans as the Jewish myth goes - the Romans only expelled Jews from Jerusalem, but not from the whole of Israel), they never left their country.

It does leave us to wonder what's the big deal - why is the world so preoccupied with an internal Jewish war?
