No they are not. There are 3 stories used by illegal arrivals, all carefully scripted by supporters of illegals and people smugglers. And, our inept immigration officials are instructed to give the green light to lying, cheating queue-jumpers with money to dodge the UN process.
The ’10 myths’ article this author relies on is a myth in itself.
Of “both major parties”, one – the Labor party – actually encouraged illegals and people smugglers; that party in government certainly did not feel “the need to repel 'boats' at all costs” until the very end of its incompetent and ‘open borders’ regime.
“Push factors” is a phrase this self-admitted ‘progressive’ has copied from open-borders Labor politicians.
His “second issue” has been thoroughly disproved by the climate itself, and real scientists – whose views have been censored by the so-called progressive – have shown that ripping money of tax payers will make no difference to climate change on the occasions change does occur naturally.
WITH “a price on carbon or an industry policy, we will eventually flounder and be left behind”; yes, economically and growth-wise by countries who don’t bother with the mythical nonsense that higher prices for everything will have affect climate change.
Keeping the tax on carbon dioxide will be no solution to anything; it will merely continue the impoverishment of consumers and, eventually, the country.
Professor James Arvanitakis must have written this same open letter to the Rudd/Gillard governments, because they certainly used many of the pleas contained within it wreck Australia during their tenure.
